      It looks better but the material quality is worse than the civic. Way more hard plastic which occasionally rattles and reflects more noise in the cabin. The grab handle is VERY cheap. The stuff you touch is still nice though.

      The weird separation between the driver and passenger seat is horrible! Hyundai’s are much more expensive to insure and still have a long way to go as far as hybrid technology is concerned. Toyota hybrids have been around since 99 and have consistently maintained their performance.
      Aesthetically speaking, obviously one might go for the Elantra. But Corollas top everywhere else.

    • @astronomicalsymphony59
      @astronomicalsymphony59 Před 5 měsíci +1

      I feel the same way! Especially for 27k. I know this model starts at 23k but even for 23,000 vents seem like a no brainer. The Elantra is very driver centric. The only thing the passengers get in a little light on the ceiling, (now you get two type c charging outlets), the cup holders (new to the SEL model) and pretty comfy seats Tbf. I do think all the room is nice as well. Vents would have been the ultimate factor for this class of cars

    I’m glad they finally added a sunroof and rear seat cup holders on the SEL Convenience trim! Hyundai really listens to their customers! Too bad we don’t get rear air vents like the Korean market. But at least for our market, we got rear USB-C charging. But I’m kinda scratching my head on why the SEL Convenience is $1000 more than the Limited trim? And will this new refresh get wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay OTA update just like the new 2024 Santa Fe? Overall, I’m loving the new front end sleek design and upgraded technology. Definitely a contender in my book!

    • @astronomicalsymphony59
      @astronomicalsymphony59 Před 5 měsíci +1

      Here are two reason for the bar: “supposedly” it makes the cabin feel more like a cockpit with the devision between the passenger and the driver.
      The practical reason is the lack of powered seats. If you don’t have a trim with powered seats the bar is a good anchor to hold onto and pull yourself up to adjust the seat. I have a 2023 SEL and it’s something you get used to pretty quick. I’m a huge fan of what Hyundai has been doing and I really like my Elantra but the bar being plastic and creeking as you move yourself up really reminds you that you are not really in a premium car but a great value car with some premium features tossed in

    14:15 Looks good, priced right, but I can't see myself buying another sedan that doesn't have at least a liftback. Car trunks suck! Just yesterday we slid four 70lb server racks into the trunk of our SUV off a cart, and then back onto a cart at destination. Super easy with the very wide opening and flat floor right at hip level, in a sedan my back would be broken.

      The Venue and Kona are super uncomfortable. I bought a 24 Kona SEL at the beginning of the year and I only had it for 3 months before trading it in for the 24 Elantra N-line. After doing more research on the web, I don't trust the CVT transmission in this model at all. Huyndai is have many issue with the DCT and CVT transmission. Many techs said this type of transmission won't pass 7 years. This is why the Sonata series still using 6 gears transmission type. Break down transmission would cost you way more than what you you think you can save right now.

    Looks good however, it is a different 2.0 lt compared with earlier Elantrs, before this CN7 generation. In Australia, we don't get the IVT as Hyundai calls them we get the Sorts Sequentai 6-speed auto which is a far stronger and robust unit. Fuel economy for us is 5.6 litres on highway and 7.6 city giving my Elantra or i30 sedan as we call them, 6.4 litres combined cycle. 50mpg highway, 37mpg city and 44mpg combined.
    These are great cars as you show but one thing is that the US-built versions suffered from pure quality control in the manufacturing of the drive trains. Ijn Australia our come from South Korea. The quality is excellent. Our version is what's called the Avante Elite in Korea. O-60mph for our versions, non-turbo is 7.9. The 6-speed gives good economy and performance.
    You guys do a great job on reviews and you can see you really enjoy what you do. Keep it up. Ps, I just thought you might like a perspective from other countries to show how these differ around the world.

Hyundai and Kia are mid-tier, and while they have excellent warranties, they have a horrible dealership network that doesn't like to honor the warranties.
