George, I tell my cat where I'm going, but he never seems interested. Seriously, I hope you have a great time. I want to recommend a knife to you. I bought one and I'm quite impressed. It's a Trapper pattern by Rough Ryder No. RR777. It's part of the Outdoorsman series and comes in Tobacco Bone which is a beautiful golden brown color on smooth bone. I can't find any flaws in the fit and finish in the knife I received. The blades are 440 stainless, which is far from my favorite steel, but the knife sells for only $18.00.

Have you seen Shawn James or his other channel My Self Reliance? He lives north of Toronto and goes fishing in a canoe. when he takes a break from building his homestead. Some trips require porting from one beautiful lake to another. Stay safe!
Ya never showed your canoe so I took a peek in your videos. Wow, a 20 footer? Ten year back or so I got a Wenonah 16' Prospector/Kevlar-fiberG mix. (52lbs naked) Bit too much rocker for open lakes, but I felt need for sharper turns in a river. ~ lol, I like to stand while fishing, like my beers (tinkle) so I got adjustable out riggers so I won't dump. Have fun; song of the paddle as some Brit coined it.
One thing I did not see was a Folding knife like a Buck 110 or similar, and /or a pocket knife, does someone carry personal protection like a handgun?? In the back country I would never go without and personally each party should have such with them, it can be a way to handle "varmints" and wild animals and gather food if needed that may be something you do not want to put in your video for some reason just saying

You might take a jump into Coxey. Would be a good fly rod lake with largemouth, bluegills and crappie. A popper late day should produce some action.
Back..fishing was tough, we even did the meat chain....weather did not help but still awesome trip
