For me the whole piece about waking already feeling empty, and “Is everyone happy?” resonates. Childhood circumstances set me feeling that keeping everyone else happy was the safest thing, and it’s a habit that’s hard to break. When I heard these lyrics it really hit me.

I've been sitting here since the stream earlier just anticipating the song, and I'm on my third listen as I write. Marie this song is FANTASTIC! Pretty, relatable, soothing, everything someone could want from your music and more. And the different musical choices are so cool! That neat percussive R&B-esque guitar line is so fun, and that slightly distorted guitar part is such an unexpected choice that perfectly helps set the tone of the topic.
ANYWAY, I'm gushing, but my point is this song is great, one of my favorite songs to come out lately very easily.
