- This one is probably my favorite off the new album, such a perfect closer too. Had a lot of fun with this one, and I'm pretty proud of how it all came out. Almost finished with the whole album at this point - Second Skin and How I Fall Apart are up next. Might take a little breather though after doing all these covers this past week lol

personally find these more raw covers better than the mixed to oblivion covers. i like a lot :D
Haha thank you! It’s actually funny because this is one of my more heavier “mixed” covers, covering every guitar part and double tracking them all. Butttt I make sure it’s legitimately played and not edited/“produced” all together to where it’s basically not me really playing as opposed to notes thrown together. I can dig a really well polished cover if it’s obviously being played and the person is just crazy good at mixing, but I’ve seen covers where it’s obvious the person didn’t really have the part/song down 🤦🏻♀️ but they’re hella good at producing so kudos there haha

I’d honestly love to if I find the time! These double tracked covers take awhile though, and I’ve gotten some requests to cover older currents tracks as well so I’ll try and work it in there at some point! It’s funny too as I mentioned in my other comment, I actually recorded this song with my 8 string because it sounded MUCH better, but I thought it would look goofy playing the song with it and ignoring a whole string 😂
Hey Alex, looking at the specs of the guitar I see 26.5 inch scale, what string gauges do you use for the Drop E tuning?
Actually, since this guitar is a Floyd rose, I keep it in drop G# and use a pitch shifter on my amp modeler to get it to the tuning I need for this song, BUT I would go with heavy ass strings if you were to do so, probably 12 gauge 7 string set would be a good starting point to try

I actually used my 8 string to record the audio because my 7 string is a Floyd and I use a pitch shift pedal to bring it down to E (usually in drop G#) but the sound was wayyyyy too muddy for the clean parts because of it haha. With a 7 string though I’d say at leastttt a 12 gauge set, maybe even heavier depending on your preference/sound you want from it

Unfortunately you wouldn’t be able to even if you could get it to that tuning, since it uses all the way from the open low E, to the 24th fret on the highest string for some of the lead runs. Unless of course you just wanted to transpose some stuff to a lower octave, that would work but it wouldn’t sound EXACTLY the same as it’s played. It could get the job done though
You might be able to find a way to play it on a 6 string with the use of a pitch shifter but it'd probably sound like fart.

All the new ones I’ve learned by ear! The only two I used tabs for are “Forget Me” and “The Place I Feel Safest”
