Just press D on that drum loop and it will place a duplicate directly after it, rinse and repeat! You don't need to switch to the cutting tool either, just double click the upper part of the take to do a split. (Also, switch to a PC, obviously)
The duplicate tip is great! I like using the cutting tool but I will try clicking at the top. Coming from logic, the click areas are a little confusing still
Very inspiring! Thanks!
Excellent video and demo of your talent! Its inspired me to use Studio One which I have, but rarely ever open. Thanks Andy!
So great !!! So good that you are giving support to us !!! Love it
Thanks for making this video. I make my own backing tracks and it was super interesting to see your workflow and compare it to mine. Great stuff! :)
Wonderful! How does out workflow differ? I’d love to learn more techniques
@@TheGuitarGeek I usually start with a guitar scratch take and figure out the drums and bass before later re-recording the guitars. And I still need to learn a lot more about mixing and mastering :)
Very good video, thank you !
This was such an amazing video! I always enjoy watching stuff being built from nothing and it's doubly awesome when it's about music. The human mind is such a powerful thing. One thing's for sure, don't overplay, Andy, because that's what makes the listener draw their mind-ears in and fill in the gaps with their own versions.
Well done and explained, man!
Dont overplay! Great video! Keep up the amazing work 👏
Thanks that you took us with you on this journey. I do not know Studio One. I used Cakewalk the last 2 years, but went to Cubase recently, which I knew from back in the days when it was a sequenzer only and running on Atari. I like your backing track. So don't overplay, Andy!
As a beginner to recording with a DAW, I found this very informative. I have Studio One so this will help me greatly, thank you! Don't overplay Andy!
That’s great news! I had a blast making this. I know this isn’t a basic guide but I am glad you picked up some info.
New to using DAW, I decided using Presonus One Studio... Where do I find those plugins? Are they free? Newbie here just trying to get things going. Thanks
Great video. I feel inspired to have a go now. Remember, don’t over play Andy!!
I like Studio One but locked into Ableton 11 atm. Doesn't matter as process is the key and thanks for sharing yours. But also remember....Don't over play Andy!
Very informative to see the whole process, thanks! (Don't overplay Andy!)
This vid illustrates why you don't need to overplay, Andy. You can overplay Fred, Tim, etc as much as you like though...
great video quick question i suffer with latency on my presonus adio box 2 any hints or tips from anybody thanx
Glad it helped. Latency could be a lot of different reasons. If you are on Windows, I recommend ASIO4ALL drivers and don't use a usb hub.
Back it up
Track it up
And geek out to your own music 🤘🏽
Don’t overplay Andy. Cool backing track!
Cheers Dale!
Algorithm fodder. Definitely jamming later!
I was able to creat backing tracks including bass, drums and percussion. I can't record my guitar track. I have audio interface ( Scarlett solo) recognized by my Mac and it comes up the studio one but it doesn't record or shows coming through the track... Please help.
Hi Gil you are welcome. There’s a link in the video description.
You see that me and my wife we are "expert" ballroom dancers /we both over 65/ when we dance people say you make it look so easy.. and we both say IT IS NOT it take a lot of practice and LOVE to make it look easy ......you should have sad at the start of this video....This is an education video so just like any other new things you want to learn you have to invest time to get some where. when you get comfortable with it like I m now it will be walking in the park so they say.. But till than IT WILL BE hard and frustrating.so good luck
could have used some cow bell
Always more cowbell
I can really see how easy it would be to do it, but "Don't overplay Andy". ;)
Nice job will have to download this later, crucifying it with my god awful playing 🤣
Remember don’t overplay Andy 😅 it’s a backing track 🎸
Faboulous, but doa.
DOA?
@@TheGuitarGeek don’t overplay Andy.
Don't overplay and Get On With It!
Less is always more! dont overplay Andy!
I don't get it. Why use a metronom when you chose first to ad drums? That is so stupid.
I explain it in the video but I’ll do it again slowly. A metronome with all those divisions will ensure that scratch acoustic track is locked in time. Try it!
@@TheGuitarGeek yes, I heard you tell that, but still I think it's unnecessary. I play guitar, but I'm also a drummer, so maybe that's why I think a metronome is unnecessary when you already have drums. 🤔😄
He explained in the video, makes sense.
Don't overplay Andy
