- Do the best tacos ever come from beef tongue? In my humble opinion, YES! Tongue is not the most common cut of beef, and folks are often a little afraid of diving into preparing it, but fear not! This odd cut is delicious and actually fairly simple to prepare. In this video, I am going to show you my favorite way to eat this “odd bit”, by making tongue tacos. I hope you enjoy this nose to tail recipe as much as I do!

Wow! You brought back the beautiful memory of my mother preparing beef tongue. My mother would shred it and make a gravy served with mashed potatoes and sauteed onion. The taco recipe sounds delicious! I absolutely love your "Back to Basics" style. Sending many thanks and lots of love.❤️
Thanks for the video Patience! My mom was raised on a farm during the depression so nothing was wasted when they butchered. Growing up we regularly ate beef tongue and heart. I remember the tongue as very tender and tasty.
Thank you for sharing! I'm glad you enjoyed the video 😊
Tongue tacos changed my life for the better.
In Washington State Taco trucks started popping up everywhere in 2008. Lengua tacos have become my all time favorite 😋
They really are so good!
Oh wow....I grew up.working on dairy farms and such. Mom would make beef tongue. I haven't had it in years because it is so hard to find. It is delicious, lean and succulent
When I was a kid my mother would send me and my brothers to school with beef tongue sandwiches. The other kids would always want to trade for my sandwich. The taco wagons in my area offer beef tongue tacos but you have to get there before the tongue is gone for the day. Thanks for the informative video.
Thank you for sharing your childhood memory! I love how nostalgic food can be!
I had grilled cow tongue at a pop-up food stall event and it was super good.
amazing! thank you!
Thank you, I'm so glad you enjoyed this one!
Awsome
Absolutely fantastic video... I've been making Tongue ... everything for years; I have one in my freezer now and was just thinking, hmmm what should I make with it - Tacos sound delish! I usually make my own lunchmeat or thin[as can be sliced] for sandwiches on some homemade Einkorn sandwich bread... Blessings❤
I haven't done it as lunch meat, but I bet that is fantastic! I'll have to do that sometime 😀 Thanks!
Beef tongue tacos are fabulous! Great video.
Thank you!
You're welcome@@apinchofpatience
Thank you for sharing the preparation of beef tongue! I've never made it before and now I understand it better and it's far less intimidating. I can't wait to try it! ❤
I'm so glad to hear it! It is scary looking but also delicious! 😋
Awesome. I think. I’ll try to get brave. 😂
You can do it! 😂
Beautiful skillet. What size is it?
And i would definitely eat that!
Thank you. My mom handed it down to me this Christmas since she is just cooking for 2 now that she's an empty nester, and I love it! It's a 15-inch lodge Skillet amzn.to/3vRNECw
Sliced in a sandwich with horse radish sauce . For all the Americans that don't think English food is hot and spicy
Horse Radish is Mexican baby food 😂
Have you ever attempted to brown the meat once the outer layer has been removed, either in the oven or in a hot skillet with some tallow?
Yeah, you definitely can brown it once it's peeled. Either in the oven or in a skillet, both work.
🤌🏻
I simply MUST say...
I am 63 years old and my entire life i have always said the tongue is THE MIST DISGUSTING THING I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MT ENTIRE LIFE!!!
