The RC3 sounds like a crossbreed between a K3LA and an RVB S75-S3. Just a very cheap sound to it. The K3LA has a really crisp and robust sound to it. All that said, the two are quite similar in tone. Pretty cool comparison indeed!
I'm gonna say the RC3 was a bit better with that slightly sharper tone. Besides, the RC3 fits better with road vehicles since I've seen over three dozen trucks with the horn.
This video put that RC3 in its place! The K horn will always win these are powerful simple designed horns, love them the K3LA WINS! But my all time favourite and hearing growing up is sand cast k3l’s and early 90’s are my favourite for k3l’s with the square tag. Thanks for posting yet another great video!
Ahhhhhh!! I had to pause my movie for this one. Very cool comparison! The RC does sound similar to the RVB 3. I'm assuming because of the thinner diagrams? I'm curious to see if puting thinner diagrams on a K3 will make is sound similar to the RC. You would need to compensate the thickness loss with some paper or something in the back to keep the geometry correct. I wanted my K3LA to have a dominant 4A sound and adding a paper shim helped. Will this damage my horn? And is there a better way to have a dominant 4A sound?. Also it looks super nice with all that snow 😱😱
The RC3 actually has a single Thicker diaphragm and your paper shim trick is probably the best way to do what your looking for. Iv tried this before and works well. Not sure when but I will be doing a video on shimming bells one day soon.

RC3 has a cheery sound. When you do the runby for both, they sound very close in sound.
