Had a '14 Genesis 3.8 R-Spec. I loved that car. Very under rated and under appreciated.
Overrated in my opinion at 348hp definitely doesn't pull like a 348hp car. I beat a few 14+ Gen in my HR 3.5 Z that was stock and only rated at 306hp. My friend also has a G35 HR I've seen him gap 3.8s as well. I think they're cool tho regardless

@@0oo00 yeah if u like it thats great , years ago i loved genesis i was about to buy 2012 , but interior and engine was a letdown for me as i hate cheap cars and it felt like one (my view not everyone) and i couldnt resiste nissan vq35hr engine , which they made many videos of how great and special that engine is.

G37 hands down. IMO the sedan actually. I own a 2011 G37X sedan. Reliable as hell, decent room, amazing in all weather, intake, exhaust, test pipes, tune, lowering springs, Konig 19" wheels on continentals, Spyder headlights, tint black on black ext/int- it just looks so good and it moves very well straight and around turns

I legit had to make this exact decision a few months ago. After sooooo much thinking and comparing I went with a 2016 Genesis Coupe 3.8. I absolutely love it but I'm sure I would have loved the Infiniti just as much

First car I bought for myself was a 2010 G37S Coupe, I bought a 2013 Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track the next year and I can tell you, the Genesis Coupe was much more fun to drive but the Infiniti was more luxurious and felt higher quality inside.
I'm going for the genesis 3.8 track edition red interior manual over a G35 and 350z I like them all tho

Although I think the Genesis looks and sounds better, the transmission issues alone would make me lean towards a G37

Transmission is solid if you get the Megan Racing mount and replace your manual transmission oil with Redline MT-85. Instantly solves transmission issue.
So i was stuck between a genesis coupe and an infiniti g37 coupe, the 2 biggest things that swayed me over to get the g37 is 1, the interior is way better like you guys said, and 2, when you go on a first date with a chick that knows nothing about cars it sounds better saying "i drive an infiniti" rather than "i drive a hyundai". Also unpopular opinion, i like how vqs sound plus i already have a 2L turbo car, my sr swapped s13.

Parked my 3.8 Genesis beside a G37 as the guy came back to it. He asked me about mine and I let him have a look around. He then told me he figured he got hosed on the G37. The interior is nicer in the G37 but overall there isn't enough difference to justify the price gap. And the Genesis is a wee bit faster and has a better warranty. Both nice though.
Idk the turbocharged Genesis can make alot of power if you're a tuner. The 3.8's Bk2's are faster than the G37s stock for stock. Also the R-Spec Version of the genesis has brembos and sick interior seats. The G37 is nice too, its way more common, and has a little better body style. The exhaust sound for the G37 is nice. Genesis Coupes are more rare but have very limited tuning options.. G37s are cheap with poor resell value. But overall imma say Genesis Coupe.

forseenlife I say cuz 2009 and up had that 7at I know 2009 and below had there issues but from experience I had a 2009 1st owner with 11k miles only back in 2010 had it all the way till 99k miles not once had a issue but a factory recall simple holes Infiniti fixed it under warranty other than that one hell of a car my wife says sold it cuz didn’t have navigation and now got the wife a 13 37s 7at sedan fully loaded sitting on 370z 19in rays 255 up front and 285 in the rear

My first car is my current 8th gen civic so I'd have zero problem living with it and modding it. If I had the money, I would have k-swapped and put a mugen kit on it a while ago.

As someone who has owned both g37 wins quality and comfort, but genesis wins looks and uniqueness. I think overall the g37 is a better stock car for someone who plans on investing in the long run

I've had both and the infiniti build design is better imo but the genesis felt more raw and race car which I like more

RedLine 3.8 Had more 08 with 90k miles and no gallery gaskets issues 😎 but you are right some get bad after about 120k miles which isnt bad. 0-120k miles maybe $2k worth of oarys and labor? ehhhh ill take that over Blowing a 3.8 motor just because i like to rev it....which has happened to my friend on his 3.8

I actually DID get a Genesis Coupe, and it has not disappointed me. I chose it for 2 main reasons: the exhaust note, and styling. But I will say Hyundai's QC might not have been as good during the Genesis Coupe production, as they are now with their cars. Mine hasn't had most of the problems (knock on wood) as what I have heard. It does have 2 different weird creaks, but they have become easily ignored over time. In fact, one of those creak noises wasn't even apparent to me until I had a chance to really take it through all driving conditions that I will likely ever put it through.

I had a g35 and G37. I now own a genesis coupe 3.8. Hands down the G35 coupe fun, fast, and sporty. A blast to drive. I bought a g37 coupe so disappointed! Sluggish, couldn't get out of her own way. Just bought my Genesis. Better than the G37. But the G35 is hard to beat!!!!

G37 is way more reliable plus it has a bigger aftermarket on parts, not to mention it’s a skyline and built by Japanese who know there shit. Genesis is a knock off of Infiniti in my opinion. I love my 08 g37s plus it’s way more comfortable and the best bargain for your wallet. 10k turbo on it and your smoking everything.

I wanted one for my first car. Just now getting into the scene (well i been in it just now acting on it) and a genesis coupe for some weird reason was just a turn off for me. Theyre fast. Looks great but ig since its kdm you cant really do alot to it. I think the reason why i didnt get one was cause of not being able to easily mod it like jdm
Pinkarmada01 yep some reasons I got rid of mine was the lack of mod abilities and the interior just felt like a 2005 civic. Just a super cheap interior and after looking at the costs of going to a bigger turbo I just decided to dump it lol sold it

An is350 has more aggressive gearing down low than both, which does give it better acceleration. However, race a 3.8 or g37 from 50mph or more, stock for stock or with equal mods and you'll lose. This is old news... Lexus has used the same power plant since 2006. It's shorter gearing makes it quicker but the g37 and 3.8 genesis are definitely faster given their higher horsepower. 🚗💨✌🏿
Regarding the bonus round question, I would suggest Mayoque (mayonnaise & barbecue sauce); it's fire on pretty much any sandwich!

In terms of interior the Genesis takes the crown it’s miles better but performance and exterior styling the Infiniti wins

Question 3: First car and mod (I had that all planned with my golf but I killed the clutch and now it's in the scrap yard)
Question 4: Nice fitment with bad interior.

Manual or dsg depends on the car imo. I just bought a MK5 R32 and all US models came in dsg. Finally being back in a VR6 car I don’t care about the transmission. That sound beats everything imo. At some point a few years from now I’ll pick up a new gti manual as a daily.

Coming from somebody who has had a BK1 3.8 and a V36 sedan, Infiniti every time. The Hyundai was nothing but problems. Slave cylinder went, normally a $100 fix. Ended up being a $2500 fix because they put in inside the bell housing and it ruined my clutch. My rear quarter window just fell off on the freeway. The 6 speed felt like trash. So far I've had 0 issues with my Infiniti, and it's faster.

I feel targeted lol. I had a 2011 Infiniti G37S sedan up until March, when I bought my 2014 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0T. I would have to say that the genesis definitely looks more aggressive and can slide around corners a bit easier, but other than that the G37S was definitely the better car. These are literally the only two cars I’ve owned lol, so I’m a credible source lol

I’ve been test driving a few g37s coupe 6mt recently. And they were considerably slower than I expected
I test drove a g37 coupe and a 3.8 genesis coupe at the same dealer and drove away with the genesis.Handles way better and tighter steering.The G had more punch right away but I feel like they're the same speed
