You'll frequently find that the western coastal plain will be dry when it might be raining up in the Ennerdale Valley - it needs the hills to lift and cool the air off the sea. My local stomping ground. If I do the E to W crossing - I'll double back along the low path you rejected, then turn left at the statue to Whitehaven and home. Well done, great videos.
