  • Hey there!
I took my Fairlight Secan to the beautiful mountains of Jura, Switzerland. The land of the "Franches-Montagnes", "Freibergen" in German, so we can call them in english the "Free mountains". It was a beautiful sunny day.

Nice video! I've never been to this part of the world before. It looks very beautiful. I am looking for a gravel bike and have been looking at the Fairlight Secan. How do you compare it to any other gravel bikes you have ridden?

Thanks for the comment! Honestly, I think it's the best. Light, responsive, fast on tarmac... Not so expensive, and much tougher than these carbon frames that they do now - ok, you have 1 or 2 kg more than a full carbon, but who cares in the mud ;)

@@GuidolineMinivan Thanks very much for your reply. That's very positive. It sounds like you like it a lot. Yes, you'll never be able to compete on weight (steel vs carbon) but having the lightest frame, especially for a gravel/off road orientated bike is not the most important thing ever. I also like the fact that you said, that its fast on tarmac as I will be riding at least 50/50 on and off road, as I have to ride on the road to get to the off road sections. I'm going to Fairlight's webpage to look at ordering! :-)

@@richardm9688 Yeah I like it a lot indeed - even covered with mud! I chose the 650b hunt Carbon wheels, with panaracer gravelkings. No problem to get to the 30 kmh - I could follow a Pinarello on an ascent once, it was unreal. What I could recommand though, if you go a lot on tarmac, is to choose some 700c wheels, and of course some gravelkings ;)
