  • Hayley Hodson was a star athlete, and the future of women’s volleyball. She was the nation’s top pick in the sport, recruited to play for Stanford University. But during her freshman year, a volleyball brought her career to an end. She says she got a series of concussions in games and practices that were never diagnosed. The worst incident came in a game against UCLA. “I took this massive ball off my head that flew hundreds of feet away,” she said. Immediately, she knew something was wrong. #InsideEdition

For those missing the point: she’s not complaining she got concussions. She’s aware it’s a sport where that happens. She is more so concerned about the care she received while at the college. It wasn’t adequate enough for the serious nature of not just how many she had but there’s was little care at all. As a collegr, the school should’ve been taking upmost prestigious care of their athletes and make sure they get the medical care they NEED! The concussions weren’t taken seriously; They just gave her water and told her it would be fine.

Similar to my little sister, she played basketball though. Several concussions, some diagnosed, some not.
She would've gone on to play college level but after so many hits we started noticing she would be out of it for longer and longer. If she was hit so hard she'd get knocked out, and each time, it would take longer than previously for her to wake up and come round.
It's changed her. Before the head injuries got bad she was an absolute star, golden child, excellent student, and just a positive, inspiring person.

But how hard as it feels??
I get the soccer ball coming down from the air, when my brother kick the soccer ball n coming rgt at me n I use it my head, it does feel almost as hard between basketball/or football ball, it’s never happen to me, since I never practice once from my school or anywhere, I only saw this n make this skill from the live tv soccer game of Mexican soccer players.
That hw I saw them n I try it once with my father: outside, or my friends at school. My friends asked me that I’m ok when the ball came at me n use with my own head, n I did told them “I’m fine…” n it’s feel almost nothing in pain but very little bit, n in few mins passed, I feel very much fine.

As someone who has gotten hit by a soccer ball and a volleyball because I play both sports, Their isn't a huge different but it think a soccer ball is worse because its heavier.

why is she suing? because she was not properly diagnosed. not because she got hit in the head with a ball during a game where she knew that could happen. had she been given the proper medical response, her outcome and wellbeing could be drastically different. football players do the same thing too. quit complaining
