It was staggering to me to learn that Ader had already made an ocean crossing in a boat that ended up shipwrecked with him on board. He knew what the ocean could do and yet he set out across it in this tiny vessel. It does seem a suicidal act and maybe the falls are already strong hints at that.
One of my favourite artists! I love that it has a testimonial by Tacita Dean as well as I absolutely love her work about Donald Crowhurst, Teignmouth Electron. It’s certainly a masterpiece, a very poetic documentary, incredibly good written and edited about “Bas Jan”. 💫✨✨✨✨
Saw his 'I'm too sad to tell you' 1970 still in Rotterdam yesterday and reading what happened to him I just had to discover more. Mainly because him vanishing at sea didn't make any sense. I just had to learn more about him. Thank you. Personally, I think his ship capsized and after that short thrill of feeling that 1/100 of a second, he realized he had to get away. If he survived, he would probably be dead by now.
Do poeple that study at thesre art academies . get any education on dissapointment management ? it seems like many are living in their own bubble.with too high expectations.
