There's so much wasted talent in the nfl. Poor coaching and management decisions mess up everything.
Colt McCoy had his opportunity but he fail. Now he didn't get as my chances as some QB. But he went to several team but didn't pan out. We don't know what happened in practice and what the coaches saw in him... Even Derek Anderson played as a starter and had his chances but went bk to back up.
Idk about “everything” but certainly A LOT. Just like tannehill on the dolphins with shit coaches like Philbin and gase and a terrible o-line people were questioning if he was a good qb. Then all of a sudden he’s a great player on the Titans.
It's crazy how some players do get more opportunities than others.

I remember when the Redskins benched him after those two wins. I felt so bad for Colt. He is a good player with a big heart.
Well, the Redskins coaches and managers are fuckin stupid. They had a good qb in RG3 but they refused to build a line that catered to his strengths. Mccoy should've went somewhere like Jacksonville where he would had a better shot at being the starting qb. I have no doubt he would've beat out Blaine Gabbert for the role.
If he had not gotten hurt, he would have lead the longhorns to a national championship!

One of the greatest quarterbacks to ever come through the university of Texas. I’m still upset about that loss to Bama in the National Championship game to this day.

I was never huge on Colt as an NFL QB, but I did have respect for his dedication, and his great college career. This is a great tribute video based on facts, and a fantastic job. I have a great deal of respect for the way you characterize these less than successful players. You aren't afraid to point out their failings, but you demonstrate that they also have had their victories and had reason to expect success when they came to the NFL. Too often we forget that 'busts' were often individuals of talent and determination who through either poor luck or poor decisions (sometimes both) failed to enjoy the same level of success in the NFL that they did in college and high school.
Thank you for teaching me an important lesson about looking at people....there is often far more than meets the eye....

Meeting Colt in person and getting to chat with him a while, I can definitely say he is quite a fine young man, the type anyone would want his son to grow up to be like. I wish him whatever success he desires.

Bro that 11-1 Junior year at Texas would have ended in a National Title appearance if they had just beaten Texas Tech.
But Jordan Shipley dropped a TD pass and Blake Gideon dropped an interception. Texas fans are never gonna get over that.

It's really refreshing to see young people who are true fans and have an almost encylcopedic knowledge of the history, players, coaches, stats etc of the Football. I was beginning to think I was the only one left. Great great knowledgeable video. About Colt McCoy,.........Everyone goes crazy over the Manziels and Mayfields and never gave Colt much of a thought even before the nerve damage injury. In my humble opinion, if Colt doesn't suffer that nerve damage injury in his arm, he would have been a great great NFL QB. There's not many college QB's you can watch and say "That guy is going to be something special" Colt was that guy for me. At Texas, when Healthy, he was as good a QB as anyone could ever ask for. He had a really fine arm. He didn't have a cannon but it was plenty strong enough for the NFL. His touch, timing, anticipation and accuracy was superb. Without that nerve damage in his throwing arm, Colt would be a top 5 or 10 QB right now. Thanks, really enjoyed your video!

I live in the area that Colt grew up and where Shipley coached high School in Texas. The McCoys and Shipleys are very well thought of families. Christians.......
Jordan Shipley also got drafted by Bengals but also had injuries that stopped his career..... You did a very good job explaining who Colt is and your details of his career were spot on. Colts little brother also was quarterback at Texas and Jordan Shipley's little brother was his wide receiver..
So Colt had Jordan and their little brothers did the same thing few years later. That goes to show that character and good training of having both fathers of these two families being Texas high School coaches works ........ All 4 boys will be remembered as better people than athletes... BTW You left out that Colt was the winningest quarterback in NCAA history ........

Billy De La Cruz as a die hard Michigan fan I can say he was not a "great" Qb . He was a great athlete with his speed and quickness when he passed you never knew whatnot expect. Accuracy definitely wasn't the guys strength nor was decision making.
