    The poor getting poorer is not germaine to South Africa. It's a worldwide scourge. I really like Mr. Maimane. I like the fact that his vision and purpose is to look forward to a solution of conciliation and building a better future for ALL South Africans as opposed to the narrative of the opposition party which chooses to use the rearview mirror far too much as an excuse for their current failures.

    The DA ideology clearly hasn't changed under Maimane. As a black South African, I don't aspire to employment opportunities I aspire to ownership opportunities and the DA still doesn't offer that. This clearly shows a black face is not what black South Africans need but what we need are black minds in leadership.

    • @AnimefreakHQ
      @AnimefreakHQ Před 8 lety +1

      +Lonwabo Gcanga Do you want South Africa to turn to Zimbabwe? You're suppose to work for ownership, not be entitled to it.

      @ryanmanuel8803 Před 8 lety

    • @gasolo2825
      @gasolo2825 Před 8 lety

      +Lonwabo Gcanga It's funny how all those who tell you to work for it are beneficiaries of stolen property. Njayami kusemzantsi la, izwe labantu abomdabu. We can not continue to live like beggars in our own land, and we do not care what the invaders have been able to achieve with stolen property. At the end of the day, they are proceeds of stolen property.

    • @sifx.z1524
      @sifx.z1524 Před 8 lety

      +AnimefreakHQ Those with ownership today certainly did not work for it; I am talking about real wealth here not a middle class house and small business. Apartheid allowed them to have entitlement; what is so wrong with reversing that? There are times when a Zimbabwe situation is necessary to correct inequality. Zimbabwe needs time, the mental liberation of young Zimbabweans has already happened. The pain Zimbabwe is going through is a natural process, it will end at some point. 2 questions for you:
      1. For a black South African , what would be the point of sustaining a system that 'works' but the majority are excluded from participation and from benefiting?
      2. If South Africa turns to Zimbabwe, who stands to lose the most considering that most do not have much to lose and very few have much to lose?

    • @sifx.z1524
      @sifx.z1524 Před 8 lety

      +DesertFox Again, not basing your arguments on facts. In Zimbabwe the black tobacco farmers outproduced former white farmers in a very short space of time. Currently there is a push to compensate white farmers for developments and infrastructure on their former lands, not an invitation to bring them all back; it is something i believe is fair and moral but not to be taken as another failure by Zimbabweans. The economic problems in Zimbabwe are a result of no access to finance/lines of credit like the rest of the world to a greater degree, and of government incompetence on a lesser level. Nobody supports handouts to irresponsible people, that is common sense; but to conclude that the idea of wealth redistribution equals handouts to irresponsible individuals is unintelligent!

Lets say the ANC removes Zuma and perhaps call Ramaphosa for his position, will u vote for ANC because Ramaphosa has much experience in the field compared to Maimane, taking about experience in economics, negotiations as he was involved in uplifting of our constitution of 1996, key negotiator in investments etc. will u vote for the ANC or u only want DA to come into power and exploit black people using this misguided guy?

      Don't disagree with you completely, but English being one of the official South African languages should count for something. Which of the many countries you listed above have English as an official language? Don't believe any. English is the fallback language for international travel and therefore our representatives on international travel should be presentable when speaking English. Growing up in South Africa it is one of the compulsory languages in school and university. But of course we all know his academic record.

    Responding to the young person's observation that Cape Town is divided between the haves and have nots by stating that he/she has a better chance of getting a job or education says a lot about what DA stands for. The best hope for any young black person in Cape Town is to be lucky enough to be an employee of the haves but never to be one of the haves. Investing in poor black children getting 'the best education' in the western cape compared to that of the rest of the country's poor black kids is like saying to a homeless person; 'the garbage you are eating from my bin is better than the garbage the other homeless guy is eating so thank me'. How about redistributing wealth so nobody eats garbage; how about that for a thank you?

      +Akhisizwe Sidondi You can't pursue Madiba's legacy under any banner, because no one will ever get there. Not under the DA and not under the ANC. Madiba's legacy has been cemented in society, and it is our job to take the new generation to a space where the constitution rules, and not political affiliation. Luckily, even though it is happening slowly, that is the way the country seems to be going.

      +Theunis Jansen van Rensburg My opinion is the judiciary is not supreme, is not infallible and is definitely not biased. There is a growing perception that the judiciary trumps everything, even morals. There is a protection of wealth and capital in this country that is the root of much evil; that is where the judiciary has drawn a line in the sand. The constitution shows its teeth when dealing with one side (easy targets such as an incompetent president) but never against the big wealth and the big capital machine that, as well documented facts reveal, is what is causing so much strife and a negative impact on the economic and social growth of South Africa. The very few super powerful individuals whose listed entities preside over private sector corruption and sustain inequality remain untouchable. Our constitution is not perfect!

Do you know how much it costs to build cities and highways? It costs a fortune! But with a pool of cheap labour and a system of apartheid at your disposal, you can force people of colour to build whatever you dream, free of charge, then sit back and say look at what I brought you black people: medicine, the steam engine, paved roads etc! Look at the gold I have forced blacks to mine and die for over hundreds of years, it is the base of which I have created all this wealth and all these respectable JSI listed entities! If they demand a fair wage for their hard labour I can just ring the deputy president to order the police to shoot to kill, then get away with it!

      The DA are essentially classical liberal, whilst the ANC are socialist, and the EFF are communist.
      For context: Classical Liberalism is the value of individualism (which naturally leads to a rejection of all collectivist ideas, such as racial profiling or race level characterisation, and identity politics), individual freedom (such as property rights, freedom of expression, freedom of association, etc.), voluntary participation in economics and service delivery (i.e. market based economics, which naturally limits government size), whilst acknowledging that you do need at least basic governance to protect this system and ensure it's continued functioning and growth.

      Sergio Milho Political life, as with life in general - really - is wrought with ironies.
      Just to show you the difference between Classical Liberalism and Progressivism:
      1. CLs (Classical Liberals) advocate individuality; Progressives (henceforth Progs) advocate identity politics (which is inherently collectivist).
      2. CLs advocate individual freedoms above all else; Progs advocate social justice at the expense of the individual.
      3. CLs advocate voluntary participation in politics, economics and generally in all social life; Progs advocate mandatory, overseen, and governed participation.
      4. CLs advocate small, minimalist government; Progs advocate monolithic government.
      There are many more differences, but these are the four principle differences from which most of the others stem.

  • @nasgwunafawu6325
    @nasgwunafawu6325 Před 8 lety

    Mmusi, you have quiet an excellent unique political vision different from any other political party in SA. The good things is that DA is not denying the inequality which is the basis of political ideologies shared by political movement like the EFF to the fact that they entrench in their cardinal pillars to take over sources of ownership without compensation. obviously this should be taken from minority whites who own that at the moment to the detriment of majority blacks. How will you achieve eradication of inequality without harming your white support base?

    • @gideonroos1188
      @gideonroos1188 Před 7 lety

      Like he said, by properly educating the impoverished, so they can compete with their own skills, knowledge and merits, rather than needing the government to impose racist quota systems.
      You create an equal playing field, and then let the players play. In this way you empower black people to compete with white people on equal footing, ensuring both improvement of black people by their own power and effort, and the freedom of the individual, and the market.
      This is a long term project, but it is the only way to properly address the problems, rather than just pasting a plaster over the wound and letting it fester underneath (which is what the ANC has been doing).
      In essence, you build up the impoverished to the standards and levels of the privileged, rather than tearing the privileged down to the standards and levels of the impoverished.

    I like Mmusi Maimane, but his with the wrong political Party. He would be the perfect leader for ANC. If he was running ANC and the EFF were the 2nd largest opposition, that would be politics at its greatest. or if we had Maimane, Ndlozi, Malema and the Return of Thabo Mbeki all running SA together under the ANC party. SA would be a true power house

      +XZDrake nobody will ever be perfect as a president, but mbeki managed to hold the South African economy in a very good position the South African economy has never been at what it was under mbeki since he came out of office. He understood the true meaning of politics. Another thing you have to understand is it was not necessarily about blaming the boers but mbeki came in 4 years after the end of apartheid. So the effects of the regime were still effecting the country he had ground to stand on. All in all I feel that he was a decent president.

    Al Jazeera is a sham, their interview with Malema is titled ''Ready to remove Zuma by force'', but this one for Maimane they titled ''Fighting a system not a race'',
    what does this imply, Is EFF fighting a race, is EFF all about aggression and violence... no. Malema's message simply is that, they are looking to overturn a system that is oppressive to other races, social gorups etc and since the guardians ofsuch a system is only looking out or its own interests, and has a propensity to intimidate and cheat its way into holding position. they will not be intimidated by such antics.

The ANC caters for all, mordenized most townships, built more schools, clinics, opened up the economy, gave everyone a voice (like you and your trolling self) and did this without physically enacting violence on our oppressors. +Dani you correct when u say, ''...Zuma is destroying the country..." when you compare him to the other presidents of RSA after the apartheid (my emphasis). Well everyone who is so influential currently in South Africa like Malema, especial to the youth might have the capacity (untested) to destroy RSA, but take into consideration that he is the one who respects our constitution and strongly involved in fighting corruption in order to make better living for all, especial blacks since there is huge gap between blacks and whites, but I like Malema for one thing that is why I think i gonna vote for him, he is not doing something before hand, he gives you everything about their policy compared to DA and Maimane who only want our votes and dont tell us that they are only concerned about the interests of the whites. I was looking at the hierarchy of the DA in parliament one day, many white people have seats and their misguided guy (Maimane) , the next following day I made some observations on the streets and checked who campaign for the organisation, and the findings were, Blacks on the streets, and whites in higher positions and offices of the DA, thats is the true vision of the DA about RSA.
