- What does the Mutt Akita 250 have to offer for its price? That's easy, build quality, looks, and attention to detail that will have many breaking their necks at the sight of it. The Mutt brand in the Philippines is distributed by UAAAGI, and it retails for P250,000 Philippine Pesos. It comes equipped with a Suzuki 250cc single-cylinder engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. So what does our resident retro lover, Jinno, think of this motorcycle? Find out on in this Beyond the Ride review.

You mentioned Motorstar, can you do a review of those who doesn't like chekwa bikes. Motodeal is not a bias channel I guess it would be win-win for all of us. 🤝
Awesome review! Keep up the good work!
Best review on the internet. Thank you.
Thank you for the great review from Australia
I think Filipinos are leaning towards a Simplistic and Practical Market. The Return of Classic bikes.
Rugged but reliable.
Stylish and Comfortable.
The less tech The bike has, the less maintenance cost for common Pinoy.
Hope more models will come soon especially Cruisers. Too many cafe racers and scramblers, and wish that the Big Brands create their own take of the Classic Bikes. Or better yet, bring bike their Old models with modern designs.
I second this!
agree..karamihan scramblers ska cafe racers eh..iilan lang cruiser bikes sa 150-250 cc category ngayun..benelli motobi evo 200 lang ata ska skygo boss 150..
agree 💯
Too many cafe racers and scramblers? I'm sorry i have to disagree with that at kung tama ang pagkakaintindi ko, its the scooters and underbones that dominate the streets. That's the time you use the term 'too many'. Also, kung practical ang pag uusapan, tingin ko the majority of the filipinos think the scooters and the underbones are more practical than classic bikes. Hence why you see scooter and underbones EVERYWHERE. Mura na, branded pa. And reliable as well.
Also, a lot of filipinos i've noticed na mas gusto nila yung scooters/underbones than the classic bikes dahil sabi ng karamihan ay mukhang 'luma' or pang 'tatay' at 'mukhang pang tricycle' ang hitsura ng mga classic bikes be it CR/scrambler/brat/cruiser you name it. That's why bihira lang ako makakita sa kalye ng mga naka classic bikes which is good dahil pag nabili ko na yung target kong motor(still choosing between rusi classic 250 or benelli motobi 200 evo), wala akong ibang katulad sa kalye unlike scooters and underbones which is everywhere at sobrang common sa daan 😂.
Great review thanks for sharing 👍
Good luck on the sales
Hope you can do a deep review on Titan 250. Though I was not expecting anything from you and sir Zach since that motorcycle was distributed by not classy brand
P250K for 250cc is a bit pricey for the Philippine market. Awfully resembles Rusi 250 but with a higher price tag. Like you said, it's for hipsters with money to burn. It's a tough sell with so many brands in the market today offering cheaper and more reliable bikes. Again, it's a hipster bike, they'll buy this in a heartbeat because nobody else have one.
100k more and you can buy a RE interceptor 650 hehe mutt is not worth it
It is definitely not priced well to tackle the Philippine market, or the vast majority of the SEA market for that matter. Even if you just copy that number one for one, ignoring taxes and try to sell it in the Malaysian market where people are roughly 3 times wealthier, its still a hard sell. It costs the average dude almost a year's salary assuming he doesn't need to pay rent or eat.
Though as a Singaporean, man I wish I could get a 250cc for that little money.
Awfully? Rusi? Ohh common
By the way, rusi is just a distributor. Their bikes came from different manufacturers, to give you some titan 250 (Loncin AC4) made by Loncin the one who makes the engine of BMW GS Motorrad.
@@mrdew8580 sorry but for the uninitiated like me, I'm having a hard time not comparing it to the more familiar Rusi Classic 250.
I used to own a Keeway Cafe Racer 152, and I think it's bang for the buck. But for it's price, you literally can't ask for more.
It's so basic, but had tons of fun with it.
I've seen the Mutt in person last Tambike in Makati, my opinion didn't change that much. Tho I haven't test driven any of them yet (probably could change my mind).
Maybe Mutt could've made an introductory price to make it more enticing to locals. But for now it's too expensive for a 250cc
This is a adorable motorcycle and very must have.. Very realable distributor. Thanks for sharing
New friend here.
I like how the Mutt looks. My concern is reliability. Manufacturer is still unproven. I'm leaning more towards a Royal Enfield to get retro bike.
Reliability is not a question because mutt used one of Suzuki's GS engine you can be sure its reliability.
I have the same worries, ive heard many complaints about poor quality shocks, batteries giving up within weeks (easily replaceable). The electronics (fuel injection computer, lights blowing). Water getting inside the dash and fogging up. Fuel tanks being made of thin material and welding causing leaks and weak spots.
I really want to love these bikes but questions on reliability seem to be banned on various facebook pages!
@@obithegamer1857 it is a Chinese copy, made with more relaxed tolerances and lower grade materials
@@antontalbot9148 Just wait until you find out Suzuki produced these very engines on china
Mutts a good fun bike and reliability is proven. But I have X2 Royal Enfields, Himalayan and the Classic 500, and my next bikes an Interceptor 😁
I hope you could review some of FKM's bikes.
can't make up my mind between the akita and the svartpilen 401 for my 1st bike. Any thoughts?
I was really excited when I first knew about Mutt. I like classic looking bikes and they nailed it when it comes to that, but the pricing is a bit high. but really they are aiming for the people who wants a simple yet good looking bikes without the hassle of modifying it and registering it. sure yamaha xsr could eat this bike whole but dang! the design of Mutt's bike was there. I mean, xsr was almost a retro bike looking but not really. if you know what I mean. Mutt bikes looked really cool but they're not for the masses, if only they could tone down the price a little.
i hope you can create a 1 month or 1 year review with the bike
Does this have the same engine with the Gixxer 250?
Sir Jino what size of Fuel gloves are those?
It's expensive for a 250cc in the Philippines. Considerably dearer than the Gixxer 250. Or the Dominar 400. Pay another 18k pesos (plus shipping I admit), for the X-Plorer kit for the Dominar, from Autolgue Design, and some knobblies, and you have something akin to the 390 adventure for the same price.
how about Fekon 250i Victorino sir? (Italjet Buccaneer 250i)
Sir, saan mga display or buy this Mutt Akita? Thank you
Still no review of the Z900 or any Kawasaki. Hoping for one on the W800 at least.
helmet reveal? hehe ...nice review by the way!
We need these in the U.S....I may be willing to move to England or Scotland.
Wow, pretty bike! Is this brand British?
Philippines are interested in what is cheap budget meal price, or whatever Yamaha are offering. Kawasaki seem to be doing ok in the big bike segment. the Kawasaki NS200 is around P115,000 basically a KTM in disguise.
With 250k i would rather get the new Royal Enfield Classic 350.
Smart man. 👍🏻
This.
The best choice
Medyo mahal mga boss. I'd go xsr or svart 200 na lang.
Protective gear is planned for tomorrow?
I think I'd prefer the FKM Victorino 250 V Twin priced at 149K Php. over this bike. I wish you guys can do a segment on it.
Sure but that MC's reliability is really questionable considering its purely made in china even the branding of it. I never heard of it before! For a 150K, might as well add a little bit more for XSR 155 and you'll get a guaranteed quality MC. A 150K is a huge gamble for a made in china MC unless it is a reputable brand.
Overall, the looks reminds me of RC250.
Sir, sana mareview nyo po yung Fecon Victorino 250i. 🙏
Magkano kaya price ng 125cc version nito sir?
What helmet is that sir? It looks good
Sir please Review Voge 500 AC bang for buck neo retro classic bike!
ganda ng bike pati itong video
Pleasee review the cl-x 700 sport.
What gloves is he using? Anybody knows?
Present Sir 🙋 Ride Safe
Where you got that shirt from?
Sure kaya maraming parts available sa PH?
its a great looking bike ....
New Dominar 400 review please 😁
Yeahhhhhhh
please review viktorino 250cc.
please
Panalo to classic motor na ito magkano po at meron na po ba sa atin sa pinas-salamat po Allah bless you
Closer in price comparison i would say is the Bristol Classic 400i which is around 238k~ May pang expressway ka na may sukli ka pang 12k!
yep i am surprised he didnt compare it with the classic or br 400i. But the updated price of the classic 400i is already 258k. but still compared to this Mutt, its still a better choice.
Yet bristol 400i is a chinese machine vs Japanese craft. I think some riders consider this.
@@MrAdiether *taiwanese vs japanese *engine. yep, it is something to consider.
No its a chinese. bristol bikes are made in Mainland China particularly Colove brand from Chongqing and rebrand it as Bristol just like other brands out there They are the same as rusi doing right now
The difference is from budget Rusi is how they assembled it here and also the quality of the bikes from the manufacturer. Bristol quality in assembly and manufacturer is superior and far from Rusi assembly line.
Nice, decent bike
Sir 250k? Tama b dinig ko?
Good motorcycle, but I'd go for RC250.
Is this carb or fi?
Ka-presyo lang ng mountain bike ko, pwede na. Iskor ako nyan, yung mastiff 250.
I have a 42kg 1.56m girlfriend, do you still think she will not fit there? I really love this bike but I am buying to ride with her and You said it is not really for 2 people so now I am not sure...🙁
In official Mutt page in motorcycle specs it states that their 250cc engine has 13KW of max power. That is 17hp, not 21.
exactly...
The old suzuki engine made 21hp but with the strict BS6 emission laws these air-cooled fuel injected singles with a large catalytic converter are restricted a bit.. It is the same with the new enfield 350cc singles making 20.2hp.. I just saw a guy in the US try a new enfield classic 350 with a new camshaft,, decat pipe, better airfilter and a new fuel controlling unit... It was completely transformed.. seen a dyno with the new camshaft.. with a decat pipe /air filter change and a remap it made 30% more power..
@@andersbarfodsvaneskolan9378 Okay, nice to know that there is power reserve.
If it runs on a Gixxer 250 engine then it has a good engine. Problem is, Gixxer SF 250 goes about at 175k here. It is a bike that will be bought by the one who wants to stand out and has tons of cash.
It's Suzuki TU250 engine and it's Suzuki tech, but not made by Suzuki. Expired na ang patent nila at ayun ang ine-exploit ng mga Chinese manufacturers ngayon. Whether it's good or bad, I'll leave it up to you.
It runs in the Suzuki GN 125 and GN 250 engines from the 80's and 90's. Still a very reliable engine though when taken cared of.
I would like to see you introduce a taller rider to all of your reviews. 6ft or over
The biggest problem with this bike is its trying to complete with proven reliable manufacturers at their level of pricing. The fact that its still early days for this brand with regards to reliability and ease if maintenance means its all about image. The front mudguard mountings may be hand made but the actual mudguard itself is a bit on the small side and this will aid in the rusting out of the front of the engine and frame. You said in the review it was a reliable Suzuki engine but im sure it will be a copy based on a Suzuki which doesn't mean the internal guts of the engine will be of the same quality as an actual Suzuki. It may be custom but there are better bikes out there that will out perform and out last this bike which seems to be all about image, and I don't think its worth taking the chance of spending this sort of money on a brand with un proven reliability and priced on street cred alone, its just not practical. Looks good but it wouldn't sway me into parting with the money they are asking im afraid. In my opinion as a seasoned biker.
a hardsell in ph market.
I literally coughed when the price was revealed
Do xsr 700
250…. Goodluck sa philippines, Mutt
Mukhang Honda tmx alpha cafe racer na naubusan ng budget pang-modify.
I thought this is the rusi rc250😅😅 id rather get the xsr155
The FKM Victorino will destroy this bike in terms of sales.
that is one expensive bike, i'd rather opt for a XSR155 or a svartpilen 250, theyre relatively cheaper , better specs and design wise theyre much more aestetically pleasing, compared to this its very common like most garage built bikes. just my 2 cents
or you could just buy a secondhand or bnew kawasaki barako 175 (same engine as kawasaki w175)..then have it be customized..youll have something that looks like this na hindi china bike..
@@aNsWeRkEy02 MUTT is not a China bike though. It's British. Unless you're referring to the engine, which is manufactured in China.
@@aNsWeRkEy02 same engine based sa suzuki daw yan
True,
@@cxg9092 He wasn't referring to Mutt. He meant that you can get yourself an aesthetically similar MC like Mutt Akita without relying on Chinese MCs like the Rusi Classic.
bristol 250 classic/cr,anyone?!
Nasa Pilipinas na? Wtf 😮😮😮
Wally Bayola?
Amg mahal pala ng 2nd dream bike ko .. mag 2nd hand nalang ako ng cb400 nasa 100k + lang
for me better deal bristol 400 may sukli pa expressway legal pa
that's 1k per cc. yep
E' bellissima. Io l'ho provata ieri; ma non mi è piaciuto il cambio.
I'd rather buy a vespa primavera or sprint 😅
fkm victorino all goods din
Seems like Mutt motorcycles are higher priced in the 🇵🇭.
To many middle hands maybe 🤔
China bike 🥰
I dont think Mutt will survive in PH market.. they need to do something about their pricing..
Their pricing does not make any sense. It looks like a good custom bike but not really premium. They are new to the PH Market so they could have at least priced this lower until they have proven the quality of their bikes. Good review but given the pricing.. I'm not convinced.
paki review naman ng sniper 155r
Kung mayron 250K mas maganda pa dyan ang gawa cgurado
I'd go for Svartpilen 200 over this.
Only downside is KTM engines blow up by itself. So..
Tough sell
So expensive, dang
Not a good deal . Literal na OP to overprice hehe. Kahit sabihing pinoy made. OP parin at so many aspects hehe just sayin
I considered this so much when i heard they will launch Mutt Motorcycle Philippines late last year. Unfortunately, wala pa silang installment basis. And Akita 250 ang unang umagaw sa tingin ko among their line ups.. Nauwi ako sa Kawasaki w175 pero kung meron man ako 250k that time di ako mag dadalawang isip na kunin ito.. Straight from Casa na custom bike..
No, with this kind of setup minus the price of the bike itself, nasa 50k lang, and it would turn out much better than this.
actually you can even go cheaper eh..kawasaki barako 175 has the same engine ng w175..if yun knuha mo (be it 2nd hand or bnew) then use the extra cash for custom work, then you can even have something that looks better than this..at lesser cost
@@aNsWeRkEy02 same engine? hays! jusko ululitin ko.. if you are not a w175 owner you better do research bago kayo mag bitaw ng wrong info sir.. transmission palang hindi na pareho ang barako sa w175 wag nyo nga ipinag pipilitan na pareho sila ng engine.. 5 speed transmission si w175 ang kapareho nya ay Eliminator 175 hindi barako. w175 is a leisure bike hindi po siya common bike ng kawasaki. For customization have you ever inquired sa mga moto garage na may mga pangalan na? they aren't cheap sir. With premium parts like Mutt they com with a price. Suzuki GN ang mga engine ng Mutt at mga FI yan may ABS kahit small displacement motorcycle. kung sa kung saan saan ka lang mag papa custom oo pwedeng pwede ang sinasabi mo, but i'm talking about big names na custom builder hindi po sa talye talyer lang.. in the end of the day you will get what you pay for..
@@lioneljoseduterte4847 really? 50k? with ABS? FI engine? nah i don't think so.. kung sa talye talyer ka lang po mag papa custom sure.. pero with premium parts made by legit manufacturers and big name builders it doesn't come cheap sir.. sa mga big names palang na garage dito sa pilipinas mura na yang 70k~100k. customization palang yan wala pa yung price ng base bike jan.. :)
@@aNsWeRkEy02
@Lionel Jose Duterte I tried na mag pa custom sa mga cheap shops and whatnot.. Like i said you will get what you pay for.. Sa custom motorcycles pag nag tipid ka papalit palit ka lang until ma satisfy ka na pulido ang gawa nila.. I'm sure alam niyo yan.. I've done my digging and research sa Mutt motorcycle those guys who built the company hindi sila basta basta builder lang sa burmingham.. So para ka na rin bumili ng signatured na gamit.. kaya yung price for me kung may pera i'll go with it no questions asked.. Peace out~
i found the quality of the switches rubbish. also, the abs line was hanging into the tires
The price is high....
Front wheel looks too big
overprice with no resale value, reliability is questionable.. xsr155 will smoke this 250 for sure. consider vitpilen 200 too, or fekon 250 which is a totaly big bike look and sound.
250k..thats an expensive bike for a 250cc..
That's 1k/cc for us. Hahahah. Anyway, at that range I'd rather get Svart201, an XSR155, or a Victorino 250 V-Twin, and have more extra cash for accessories and gear.
sa price nya RE na
I rather go for locally made custom bike.. Support lokal nalang dpa ganun ka mahal😁
Expensive ☹️
Too expensive. Royal Enfield would be a better option on that price range.
250k for an unknown brand? thanks but no thanks
very expensive for a chinese bike...
Di makatarungan ang presyo🤣🤣🤣🤣
British branding(known for unreliability) + China Made bikes = overpriced & overhyped.
If you want a British bike, then buy a Royal Enfield. If you want a cheap bike, then just buy a Rusi instead.
Feature niyo din sana yung Rusi Classic 250. Pinoy brand yun pero wala pa sa mga established na motovlogger ang gumawa ng review video. Pang-masa masyado? 😏
china yung rusi
Anung pinoy brand?
@@kthb-reels Huh? Lahat naman ay galing China. Inaangkat lang ng mga manufacturers tsaka rebranding. Get your facts straight... 2022 na ganyan pa rin yung mindset. Shesh.
@@applemansanas3246 Pinoy brand pero inangkat yung parts sa China.
"Rusi Suri" kasi eh. I own one, and hindi na siya basta2 kagaya noon. Maganda na nga yung quality like my other bikes (Honda Rebel 500, Triumph Speedmaster and Kawasaki Vulcan 900 2009).
Why is it called a mutt tho? It's basically the same as calling a motorcycle a STUPID 250
