  • In highpower rifle competition, the rapid-fire stage has several different parts. How these are conducted may be confusing to a newer competitor. This video shows an entire stage in real-time, with explanations of what's happening as well as range commands.

    Hey Konrad,
    thank you very much for sharing your rapid fire stage.
    We actually have a very similar shooting competition here in Germany, quite similar to your highpower competition shooting.
    Your videos are helping me and my fellow shooting friends a lot, thank you!!
    Keep up the good work

      Danke. I visited HSG Munchen when I was in Germany several years ago. It was much more impressive than the shooting clubs we have here.

      Yes, they are one of the really old shooting clubs that date way back to nearly medival times.
      Luckily there are many clubs like that over here, we love our heritage.
      Unfortunately the AR15 is not all that common over here, so you have to find special clubs, that would allow them.

    Hey Konrad - you've helped me a lot via your videos and in person. Thanks for that.
    One major question - Will the tyrannical gun laws put in place by our governor affect high power in 2024? Will the ISRA range personnel become Fudds and ask for "registration"? Will they get on us about using standard capacity magazines?
    Ok that was actually 3 questions, but all in the same vein. Your input there would be helpful!

    In the service rifle matches I shot in the Army the rapid fire stage was from standing to sitting and prone! Guess not here!

      The requirement to stand before rapid fire strings was removed probably 15 years ago for NRA matches. This was due to shooters with medical waivers staying in position and other competitors with loaded rifles behind them. I would imagine that this is not a problem in the Army.

      The cart is a Schneller. I don’t think they’re made any more.

      You may have said this somewhere else. Which do you prefer? Electronic or standard pulled targets To me I'm going to have to get use to the electronic thing cause it seems so damn rushed. I would much prefer the old standard way like this range but none of the ranges in my area do this anymore. Also from this view I can't really see if you are canting your rifle in sitting? I also see you running your stock a notch further forward. I am having to learn all this over again using a scope. I love your videos!!!

    • @konrad1853
      @konrad1853  Před rokem

      The first string was a 100-8X and the second string a 100-4X.

      I agree that some ranges use electronic targets as a way to try to finish the match as fast as possible. Not going to the pits lightens the load on a lot of shooters but the electronic targets have made the highpower experience worse for a lot of shooters, in my opinion.

    Konrad - I wished you had commented on the Alibi next to you, I think he said he had a primer stuck somewhere (causing the rifle to malfunction). I need all the help I can get understanding how all this works. Thanks.

    • @konrad1853
      @konrad1853  Před rokem +1

      In short, if you have a malfunction, and you stop shooting immediately you can get a re-fire for the shots you did not fire. Maybe an explanation of alibi procedure should a future video idea.
