- Botany bay fishing with a tub of Gulp lures which I picked up from a bargain bin and I proceeded to put it to good use. Multiple species of fish caught.

Great vid and fishing Shroom, Trevally put up great fights, flounder are an awesome by catch if they are a bit bigger.
Thanks Big Kev, that was a good fight and half with the foul hooked trevally. Flounder look so nice off the sand!

All good Fear the duck. Flounder is definitely something I want to try at one stage. Trevally always surprise me, especially side hooked ones haha
Awwww, that wee puffer fish was just so cute, looked like a little bath toy my daughter had when se was tiny.
I was thinking the same Andrew, anything miniature of adult specimen always looks cool to me! Like bonsai for example haha

This is Dolls point. The jetty and baths had great fishing in the 1970s.Then the sand came in covering the deep drop off and filling in massive areas of the channel.
That's interesting Michael. It looks a bit different every time I'm there,. They filled in the little channel where I caught all those whiting a while ago
@@ShroomFishing From the sailing club now is acres of sand beach. At high tide the water would be lapping up to club ramp. Sand started to bury the weedflats and cockle beds right up to Sandringham baths. After storm in 1979 when third airport runway construction underway.. Altered the Bay's dynamics. Where you fish now would have been under 4m of water. Fished lots there as a kid getting bus from Kogarah.
Bream, blackfish,tailor, sand mullet , flathead. Remember some old timer going out in wooden dinghy coming back with cane basket full of large bream.
You should head there in the mornings its always gusty in the arvo along that stretch
I have caught a 2m white spotted guitar shark at that spot on squid.
In the warmer months we have caught juvenile bullsharks, Hammerhead sharks and the odd Jew.
The next bend at dolls point before the yabby grounds will get U big flat, tailor Jewish, In the warmer months Bullsharks and monster sting rays
Insane catch, would have been a shock. I actually wouldn't mind trying to get a shark around there. I might have to give that other bend a try with baits, I've fished it with lures but it seemed tough with a lot of weed and the need to cast very far out.

The white spotted guitar shark took me 15 mins to bring it in moving up and down the beach.
At sundown/ night is when it's more productive with the sharks .
Summer is when we caught the juvenile bullsharks..
The other bend there is more of a chance of catching a Jewish we caught many there largest being 1.1m. with the sharks, at baldface point is good spot trevally jewfish Mullet and I have nearly been spooled because a shark hit (then my line cut).
At Baldface during the day you can sometimes see Bullsharks breach the water

Thanks Archer! Plastics worked very close to structure is the best way to get them in clear waters if they on bottom. If they up high, can try light weights or lures such as Ecogear bream prawns with worm hooks for the flutter. Surface lures works too especially early
@@archerroeding9082 shrooms spot on anyway but the other lure worth a try is a zerek shrimp the small one, grab some prawn or shrimp scent as well, that will definitely help in the clear water.

Hey Shroom do you run a loop knot on your jigheads or do you just use a regular type of knot? Was just wondering if a loop knot is needed?

What size reel is that on the NRX? I just got the new NRX+ Inshore and put the Stella FK 3000. I'm loving it so far!
Wow nice one Peter! That NRX+ Inshore is insane. Ive paired my rod with a Stella 2500 FI. I'm sure you get the same feeling that the combo feels like it can be fished incredibly hard and still function flawlessly haha

Another good vid mate, have you sussed out the hand warmers from Woolies etc... But seriously i have a t curve premium 2-5 kg with a 2500 Vanford, do you think i could fish the same size jighead and plastic. Would you consider this as a nedium size set up. Thank you.
Thanks Alan and aboslutely you could with that nice piece of kit! You could handle 1/4oz and also 3/8oz with a bit of care in the lob, it is in a way medium setup.
I have been listening to your beginner series on spotify. Maybe you could talk about different size set ups and cast weights etc...Just a thought.

Another interesting video. Do you consider Gulps lures or bait? Bit of a hybrid between the two? Flounder are tasty, have caught a couple recently at Raby Bay, Qld.
Technically lure but fishes just like a bait Cubesy. Pretty much why I sometimes fish it like a bait haha

We all want to make friends with Shroom! By the way how does the Exist compare with the Stella in the 2500 models? You are in the cashed up position to tell me.
Lesgo! That's right! The Exist still feels a touch better in the hand on winding and aesthetics but the Stella has caught up a lot. Still feels the tough workhorse but it's a really solid smooth and tight reel. They feel different like its a different smoothness and tightness between the two.

Shroom what's your Sydney experience with the American style rigs (Texas rig, drop shotting and Carolina rig)?
I have tried the first two, they do work but it feels better just rigging them conventionally on a jighead. I can see they would be better it some situation though
