Embodiment of Scarlet Devil is the 6th game in Touhou series, developed by one man named Jun'ya Ota. The game released on 11 August 2002, this is the first game in Windows era.

6:03 marisa uses "ze" (and "daze," like the jojo word) as a filler word in her japanese dialogue. it's meant to make her sound more boy-ish, but early western fandom didn't know what to do with it and often would transliterate it into english. also, the mid-2000s fandom commonly portrayed patchouli as having a massive crush on marisa in one way or another (for an example see the locked girl pv from cool&create from about ~2007-ish)

(Except she remembers how much bread she’s eaten because she doesn’t like it.)
Some of the ReimuVsSakuya scenes reference Touhou's actual fighting games, where Sakuya does make use of a clock to stop time (albeit never directly pressing a button on it. She either flatout throws it or stops time herself in true ZA WARUDO fashion).
Sakuya: “You want to see time fly?”
Reimu: “Uhh ok?”
Sakuya: ‘Throws a clock at her’ “HERE YOU GO!”

Remilia's crouch at the end is a reference to her crouching sprite in some of the earlier spin off fighting games (Touhou 7.5, 10.5, and 12.3).

Remlia having donuts is because she's the first boss to use a kind of bullets where the graphic of them is an attempt to make them look spherical where only the inner portion of the graphic has a hit box. They often end up looking like rings with a damaging hole. Or a donut.

Also in 6:48 i dont know if you see it but Reimu was going to die. Sakuya in her boss fight is usually too tedious because of her RNG especially in her last Killing Doll spellcard. Too troll.
She does not want to lose without having taken 1 life piece. In Stage 6 in his midboss dialogue if I remember correctly she said that she would make us spend 1 bomb before Remilia fight.
Good video, it could be better if you explained more such as the habilities of sakuya or flandre, why the donuts of remilia, the yukkuris at the end or the typography (it was something difficult to read)
When Marisa talks to Remilia, she asks her how much blood had she drunk her entire life. Remilia replies with this question, 'how much bread have you eaten in your entire life?' Marisa's answer to this question was, "13. I usually prefer Japanese food.

And all because ZUN is a very fan of JoJo! He likes to add little references here and there. The combo Sakuya+Remilia are a big reference of DIO, Marisa have the personality of Joseph Joestar and Reimu have hints of Jotaro.

I think the whole Remillia eating donuts thing could be a reference to Shinobu Oshino. She’s a vampire from
Monogatari who’s obsessed with donuts after the main protagonist introduces them to her. But other than that potential reference, everything was explained kinda nicely.
Remilia's danmaku looks like donuts. That's the joke. Shinobu is just a funny coincidence.

Flandre ability is OP but it’s underused also the reason why everyone dies on rock when flandre played scissors paper rock is because her ability activates when she squeezes the “eye” in the palm of the her hand meaning she can get rid of the world if she just clenches her fist(only right hand) I think.
She can move her opponent’s weakpoint to wherever she wants, so she can basically kick you in the balls all the way from Japan, no problem

Though some of the text blends in to the video or character portraits too much, so yeah turning on the captions does help.

This is what led to her reputation as a complete idiot, ZUN had embraced it by the time the game with the manual that calls her a (9) came about.

@@HyperVanilo The "Donuts" danmaku is actual "Red Magic" (Normal) or "Scarlet Gensokyo" (Hard/Lunatic) based on which difficult you plays in, and it is her last spell.
Tbh the donuts reminds me more of her first spell in normal than the bubble bullets

basically, in Touhou every object has a sort of eye. This eye is the centrepoint of every object, and holds the object together. Flandre can destroy these eyes whenever she wants. Even destroying big stuff isn’t hard since she destroyed a meteor.
The vending machine on 5:00 reminded me of that one soda machine in roblox Gensokyo Arena,the one with the hina face.
