  • Talk Description: Learn about the science and technologies used to track and monitor invasive carp, how dams impact fish, the use of environmnetal DNA in conservation, what happens when fish get sick and the incredible species studied at the Midwest Fisheries Center in Onalaska, WI.
    Presenter: Cristina Dahl is an outreach specialist with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service stationed at the Midwest Fisheries Center. She has a passion for communicating science and connecting people to nature. She graduated from Virginia Tech in 2019 with a Bachelor's Degree in Wildlife Conservation. Throughout college she interned with the USFWS during the summers, taking her to National Wildlife Refuges in Minnesota and Missouri. After college, she worked as a park ranger at Necedah National Wildlife Refugre for 2.5 years before starting her position as an outreach specialist in 2022.
