BACHATA FOOTWORK: Double Heel

Learn how to dance the Bachata "Double Heel Footwork." The Double Heel is a syncopated footwork improvisation that can be performed alone or with a partner. Adam has seen variations of this footwork throughout the Dominican Republic, including by an excellent dancer in Los Castillos de la Victoria.

Hi Adam, I am roots dominican and I teach bachata and dance the bachata for 20 years.
And I tell you honestly, that you, as non-Dominican, are the best bachata teacher I know.
All those suckers on CZcams with their nice clothes tight over the ankles and their sexy dance partners. Must take an example from you. And stop that nonsense they sell all those ignorant who do not know what the real bachata is.
And I know exactly what they're going to say: "That the bachata that said dancing is bachata moderna", but no one called it that way. Sometimes they even call it bachata dominican. A small lesson for them: Bachata dominicana does not exist! When you say bachata is sufficient. But if you dance something that resembles bachata, then it only gets a last name. As bachata Moderna, bachata sensual, bachata fusion, bachatango etc. etc. blah blah blah. I know everything develops over time, but always gets its own name. You know exactly what you're talking about, keep on going, you're great.

Adam, you are the Larry Bird of Bachata giving hope and inspiration to white guys everywhere, including me. Using your feet to play with the music is the most enjoyable to watch for me and really shows that connection to the music. First time I heard bachata was when I went to DR many years ago, and I thought it was the coolest music I'd ever heard. Still love it.

This is real bachata, the steps, the music, everything! I am big fan of Romeo Santos but nothing can compare with Joan Soriano, Luis Vargas, Anthony Santos ect., there is special beauty in their songs,love Dominicans, hope to meet someone one day :)

Hi Ana! 1,2,3 Heel(4) Step(1)Step(&)Heel(2) step(3) tap(4) So after you touch with your heel the first time, you are doing and syncopated step 1&2(heel) remember to change weight on the syncopated step, taking each step. Best wishes.
