    I have 2 Era 100's connected as a stereo pair and they are amazing, In a small apartment no need for a sound bar or a sub. They are great and split the sound so nicely with great quality, treble and bass!

    I convinced the wife I wanted these as my Father’s Day gift 😅 so picked the pair up yesterday from Best Buy to replace my old Play:1s as my tears and for music playback around the house…all I gotta say is I’m VERY impressed so far with how these perform. You can definitely here a difference in sound ESPECIALLY when playing back music. Wow. Such a fuller sound stage yet everything sounds so much clearer and vibrant thanks to the extra tweeter and larger woofer. Very happy! Aesthetically they look awesome as well next to my arc and gen 3 sub 👌🏽 the wife says they look very pretty lol success

    What are the alternatives you are talking about in the end? I'm looking for a speaker for the same need as you. Any recommendations would be great!

    I own a Sonos Roam that I received as a Christmas gift. It sounds decent for the size, gets very loud but lacks bass. Overall good sound though and I love the design but I have noticed some of the connectivity issues you mentioned and to think those could be on the new more expensive speaker I’ve been considering may just be a dealbreaker 😬 I appreciate the honest review!

    My Era 100 use case is as a "Smart" DAB radio. It works with Tidal etc and the radio station app I use,

    Great video. Did you ever think that the unreliability regarding WiFi is down to your WiFi itself??
    I have many Sonos devices and very rarely have any issues at all.
    Your WiFi has to be rock solid and setup correctly to get the best from these speakers 😅
    Thanks for the review

    Thank you! I was undecided about the era 100. Now I know is not the best as a computer speaker and I need to keep looking.

    That’s funny that some people had some kind of problem with these speakers and then theirs others that don’t

    \\\New Subscriber/// Hi Kyle, Great videos - keep them coming... Question: You mentioned the Era 100 was not the ideal choice for connection to a computer due to the latency issues which is exactly what I'm trying to avoid. What speaker options would you recommend I consider in order to have good sound and connectivity with wifi/aux/Bluetooth. Thank you Kyle.

    Comment or sign the petition. Hmm, tough choice...
    More on point, I recently purchased an Apple TV 4K and was considering Sonos along with the other options to pair with it, and opted for the Amazon Echo. The sound quality is good enough for me (I'm obviously not an audiophile) and it was more affordable. Interestingly, I haven't experienced any noticeable latency issues.

    Love mine. Era 100 it's significantly better than the one. Better clarity and midrange. Music setup beam sub pair of era 100s one set in my living room the other one in my bedroom. Subtract off what you can sell the old ones for.

    Curious do you know if I could have a dedicated Sonos mini sub for two Era 100 for my computer? I have a few other Sonos products for TV etc but want to separate the sub for the Era 100 only.

    I had a terrible experience with the Sonos Era 100 stereo pair. Connectivity issues several times a day. I have a pair of Sonos Play 5, gen 1 that still work perfectly. Never have dropped connection. I returned the Era 100s and am still using the Play 5s. The Era 100s did sound great but the Wi-Fi stability was awful.

      Lucky for me I have not tan I to that problem and I hope that’s not the case 😟 I just got mine yesterday to use as rears and so far I’m very happy.

      The difference is Sonos ditched the Sonosnet mesh capabilities with these era models. Your old play 5s aren’t competing with the rest of the wifi devices in your home. The 100s were, hence the random dropouts.

    I recently purchased a Sonos beam, and 2 era 100s. The era 100s pop quit a bit mostly trying to listen to music. Does anyone know why?

  • @sheldonwong12
    @sheldonwong12 Před rokem +1

    I don’t have a Sonos speaker but my impression is that they put so much thought into sound quality (as they should) but not enough in other aspects (connectivity, etc.). Too bad cause their products cost a ton. Great video as always Kyle! P.S. unrelated but your hair looks great here

    If I buy 4 era 100s and connect them to my arc+sub will I be able to use the entire system as a 5.1 surround? Arc being center channel
    2 era front left and right
    2 era rear left and right
    Or they can only manage being rear speakers?

    • @CesarHernandez-nk6qx
      @CesarHernandez-nk6qx Před rokem +1

      Sonos doesn’t allow 4 of them to be connected at the same time sadly. I’ll be waiting for that to become reality some day. Lol

    • @Cocker_Spaniel
      @Cocker_Spaniel Před rokem +1

      @@CesarHernandez-nk6qx pretty damn stupid if you ask me, they could sell way more units with enabling a function to add additional speakers to the surround config

    • @CesarHernandez-nk6qx
      @CesarHernandez-nk6qx Před rokem +1

      They allow two subwoofers to connect with each other. I’m pretty sure they can do the same with the surrounds if they wanted too.

    At Singapore dollars $449 each, which is equal to USD$329 approx at current exchange rates. Its just too expensive. They only cost USD $249 there. Why?? Plus the sound is not at all impressive too. Bass is way weaker than my current WIFI able Harmon Kardon Omni 10. As i'm a bass head.. I've already ruled it out as my next speaker replacement.

    I spent a lot if money on Sonos. But it was a rubbish product. I have excellent internet and WiFi but got Constant failures due to their software updates, manufacturer always blamed Apple for their new release of Operating System and took many months to update their software to suit. Constant failures even when there was no OS change too. I really suggest avoiding Sonos, it was the worst purchase I ever made. I ended up throwing the speakers in the bin.

    I bought a pair of Sonos Era100. The worst ever experience in setting up and the quality was not so great as they advertise. In less than 8hours I asked a refund for my $550. If you don’t want headaches, dismiss the Sonos wireless systems.
