Thanks for the Cosmos review! I've collected seed packets since last year when you showed off so many beautiful Cosmos varieties in your garden. Now I am ready to plant the seeds in my N.C. garden. I can't wait to see them bloom!

Hi Bonnie 👋 I love cosmos so much. Last year I showed them in so many videos if you go back. I can't wait to see them again. Be ready to collect seeds!

Your peony’s and yellow Iris are breathtaking!❤❤❤. Hey Leigh, say hi to farmer John for me. You two are so cute together! Your garden is gorgeous. I’ve been busy with my yard too. Sometimes back breaking work. I hope your back is better! All that bent over work gets to you! I just love the Candystripe cosmos variety. Can’t wait to see yours in bloom. I didn’t get to involved with seeds this year because we are reviving one side of our backyard with new sod and two 4 x 8ft raised beds. Tomatoes and peppers mainly. I did start some hollyhocks because we had them in our yard when I was a child. I find them comforting.

I’m well but suffer from back pain too. It’s been hurting for two weeks and I’m trying not to make it worse. There is so much work to be done. How is your back doing?

@@paulinemarks6207 I'm in the same boat. Went to the chiropractor twisted and bent over. Stress of demands pulled my muscles even tighter. I'm straight again but without the belt I collapse. We can't collapse when we are the care takers! Wish we could visit for a coffee and girl chat. Sending hugs, and always thinking of you 😘

@@ourbackyardgarden I here you Leigh sometimes I walk slightly bent over and it feels like my muscles won’t support the weight of my body . So I do s much as I can then call it a day on the heating pad. Today was a good day but I didn’t work outside. I did sit outside with my dogs and enjoy the beautiful weather we are having. Love having you for emotional support Leigh! It would be great to get together and enjoy a coffee. So glad your channel is thriving. I’m learning so much from you😘

Yes, the perlite has fooled me 😅. And yes, despite working outside all day there was the household chores fit in here and there-what a day!
Your peonies are beautiful! I was so hoping I might see some with the new ones that are one 3rd year ? as the previous homeowner had some here with red leaves and have never bloomed so I’m not sure if I can get blooms.
The yellow/purple irises look like the ones we had at home (folks). I had a very dark almost black iris bloom already and that one is done. The Stairway to Heaven is getting huge leaves can’t wait! 👏🏼. Things are getting crowded in some areas as those red poppies are staging a takeover and these yellow flowers I think are a small primrose I brought here from my last place and they did nothing for over a decade and now they are also taking over. It is weird.
Nice overview of cosmos! And I hope the quality stays the same at BI also.
I have so many saved seed and I need to plant them all out and hope that I have so many pop up that it confuses the wildlife 😡.
I always like to plant late day or overcast-well I actually have to because this heat here would fry them.
Well I relaxed enough after supper and your video which was fun to relax to 😊 and wonder if I have enough oomph to tuck a few more flowers in 🧐. We were suppose to get rain and we got 10 drops-yes I counted them 😅.
Tuesday night we are to be 40 degrees and may need to be on duty to cover. The rest of future cast says a handful of mid 40s through the end of month and the rest in 50s.
Weeds…. I never had dandelions until I used lawn clippings from family-lol, was going to ask if they wanted them back. The clippings have really helped with worm population, so there is that.
The geese are honking their way back to the water (rush hour traffic😊) so I better get moving before I need to get a publisher for this message😂 😂
Yeah FJ for saving the calendula!🎉

@@ourbackyardgarden 😆I went out and got about a dozen perennials in and it got pitch black and the wind gusted-I ran to get everything put away and then we got 30 drops of rain🤩.
I did read about that and of course the clouds are in the way yet. It will clear out soon and I’ll have to check.
Hey, I was weeding front where redbuds are and the Flame Thrower Redbud IS growing all along the bottom up to just past midway. I have bark protectors on and the poor thing was all under that. I’m pretty happy it’s growing. The top is pretty thin stick so I suspect a new leader will take over.
Thx for reminding me about lights.

IMO - Put all your tomatoes out. They'll be fine. They can handle these lows like crazy. Mine have been out and they're happy & growing big.

@@ourbackyardgarden I've used overturned totes/boxes before. Even a sheet of cardboard wedged to soften wind. I think it'll still be ok. I've had them under plastic bags with inches of snow. But yea this is rough. Had a damn dream about it!
