    Great video it’s really good looking out ! I got my first kayak a couple years ago it’s a pelican castaway, I’m loving fishing out this thing but it’s kinda small and I want to upgrade thinking about lifetime Yukon I want to paddle with few accessories just trying to keep it simple that’s what I love the most about yaking is the simplicity. Thanks again

    Bought a 10 footer to put into my small van, it's 32" width, tall V bow, very seaworthy and versatile, big little kayak's are great as long as you're not too large a person. But love your concerns and honesty, good on you man.

    You are a good man talking about SAFETY, Aliex!! That is why I purchased my Native Titan 13.5 kayak, with a very STRONG shell, and a beam width of 41 inches across!! ...but it is a bit heavy at about 175 pounds.

    I’m currently waiting on my third Hobie PA14 warranty hull right now. I’m glad I purchased the kayak from a dealer you are familiar with, David @ ACTION WATERSPORTS in central Florida. David has been great and had the warranty approved in a day or less on both occasions. It’s beyond me how Hobie would just keep sending the same kayaks out with KNOWN defects. In both of my cases, the scupper Stanton cracked inside where the insert sleeve is. The crack develops quickly and allows a tremendous amount of water in, and before you know it, you’re sinking. I love the fish-ability of the Pro Angler, but with this issue going on, I may opt to off load this one and find another platform to fish out of. Old town is looking good with their offerings.

      I think it goes back to what i was saying in this video, all those boats built during covid have issues, and it is not only hobie, but hobie do cut corners i feel like, they make design decisions that will make it for a less durable boat because they probably thought if it breaks we will fix it... You are in great hands with David.

      Nah, Hobie is not what it was. I have 2 fishing buddies that were so fed up with issues they kept having with Hobie that they sold them. And they aren't going back to the brand. It just left a bad taste in their mouth for the amount of money they spent, they expected a lot more. That wasn't there. I tell ya, it’s money well spend or money well saved when someone else is willing to put forward the time and money to help educate others of their experiences.”, the ins and outs, pros and cons. This can be said for anything we purchase. But really tho, you probably shouldn’t just go buy a kayak and just throw it on the water and just hope everything is going to be ok, if “A” you haven’t a clue about the sport lol it helps to understand and get educated and experience. Then you’ll have a better understanding of what you might want. “B” you really need to try it out before you buy something if you can. After you’ve hear the good and bad. I also understand not everyone will have the same experiences the same problems or issues. But, it should be noted as a way to help us navigate our purchases. Everyone should be aware or possibly issues. Especially if it’s very well acknowledged amongst the owners community. This information just plays a very small role in helping others make their own decisions. It will never stop owners that have and love the experience of what they have. And won’t stop them from buying in the future. We all have the highest expectations. Sometimes, somethings just fall alittle short of what we expected. I can tell you from experience. I’m guilty of buying before I try a product just because it was cheaper or thought it was really cool lol and paid for that in the end. So with that said I greatly appreciate the feedback/support/content.

    Happy to hear Finally someone with this many followers speaking up about the issues with Hobby. In all honesty Its a great kayak with the best potential to become the only choice. However the fact that too many failed versions of it has really tarnished the brand.

      zero warranty, to the point my neighbor may sue them. it sunk day one and the dealer has dropped them due to zero response from hobie. take your chances. don't know the full details but he is out 5500 bucks and he has hired a lawyer. greed kills, the dealer has washed his hands of hobie , apparently has tried several times , the guy has bought another brand and is happy with it. sad part i know 4 simular deals with the hobie. don't sell the cart if its the issue. he went 50 yards on the creek and it sunk. hate it for the guy , as i paddled around in my super cheap boss 12ss. 500 bucks and it doesn't sink. can understand why he is pissed off.

  • @johnngo2642
    @johnngo2642 Před 6 měsíci

    I really appreciate your videos. But the truth is every new generation kayak is going to have its growing pains, just like cars. Take the outback and the PA 360 for example. You also need to realize all warranties in general state 'replace or repair' at their discretion. You can't realistically expect a new hull for every crack issue and if they send you a repair kit for something above the waterline that's honoring a warranty. From what I've read Hobie had addressed those issues. Manufacturers take feedback and make improvements, see the 360 XR.
    I also found it a little entertaining that you found so many faults on the 133 (that you paid for). I would have expected you with your experience to notice
    some of the production faults in person at the store before you bought it for a T&E (thin unsupported plastics and raised scuppers). They have those on display at my local BassPro.
    Maybe you could test some Costco kayaks (lifetime?) At least they have a forever return policy which would be appealing to people who want to get their feet wet in the hobby without the monetary comittment instead of the best and worst imo videos.
