For the trevally sashimi can you eat it fresh or does it need to be frozen first?
You can eat it as soon as its out of the water, in fact we usually eat a slice when filleting . But the flesh will firm up when chilled, so getting it into a cold ice slurry will cool it down quickly.

Yeah the 12000 is an awesome reel, but we use 8000D when straylining from a boat or land-based fishing.
