have you tried to deposit cash? you cant you still need a brick a mortar place to deposit. Not unless its liquid.
@@Dannyjeon1I have not but there are centers that you can use to deposit cash. There is a fee I think it’s $4.95. I still have other bank accounts which I use if I want to deposit cash then just transfer to Sofi so I don’t have to pay a fee. Hope this helps.

SoFi - from newest loyal bestie. Already set up the Checking/Savings combo account. And already used their Customer Service chat. The daily deposit limits are fairly low. It would be nice to offer an unlimited deposit amount, at least for initial account funding, and/or put the deposit on-hold until the check clears. I even offered to mail a Cashier's Check to SoFi, but that is not an option. Overall, this account is still well worth it for me. Thank you for your recommendation.
For the past few months I've been getting my direct deposits 4 days early for some reason. I got my military retirement check yesterday that gets paid to me on the 1st of every month with a regular bank account like Chase.

Thank you for this information. I'm trying to get over the fear of sending ALL my money to an online bank. I'm so scared of leaving my brick and mortar CHASE, although I know I get nothing from them other than security they are 2 minutes from my house. I need to change this way of thinking :(

I was like you before but now I love online banking . I Bank with Amex HYSA and earn around $1000 in interest with in a year. with Chase bank not even $5 😐. Your money is safe because it is FDIC SECURED !!

2 cons, try transferring large sums of money OUT of Sofi and see how long it will take. Also, you can't add a trust as a beneficiary to your account, just individuals.

@@DayanaPlays Mainly right now because I l believe it's undervalued at a discount price! I believe in the CEO and his plans for the future. They align with mine and I knew this was coming and then I found SoFi while searching for a new bank. Then I really started to do more research. Banks have been collapsing since covid and we're the only country with around 7500 banks. I believe we're going down to just a few with no branches in the future. I believe SoFi will be a part of that future! This is my first year in the stock market as a trader/investor as well and I have to say I'm loving it! SoFi being profitable now is just a bonus. 2 more quarters of profitability and they are on the s&p index! The next two years will be huge for SoFi I believe!

I was going get Sofi. I decided to stay with American Express. 1APY Checking and 4.25 Savings = 5.25 APY. You have to be a Amex member for 3 months to get Checking account.
does it make sense to simply add the apy's together when you have different balances in your checkings versus savings account?

What do you think about Marcus by Goldman Sachs? They have a competitive APY and interest rate and you don’t need a direct deposit to get it. 😅
“SoFi”. They also allow mobile check deposits of $200K while some banks/CU max at $3000.00/day. As a feeder bank they do transfer $ quickly though allow only 4/5 different banks at most I think. Not bad.

Love SOFI. I have $50k in my 4.6% savings and the rest in Wealthfront at 5.00%. And yes, I still have WF for when on vacation outside of the USA and for Zelle lol.

Hey, to earn 4.60% APY on your savings account, you only need to receive direct deposits of at least $1 each month. Since you'll be receiving $700 a month, you'll easily qualify.
However, to get the $300 bonus, you need to receive direct deposits totaling $5,000 or more. Transfers from other bank accounts don't count. okay it may be a good bank but have you tried depositing cash? well it would of been good to mention that. All the all point machines you cant do deposits. Just withdraw. This sucks.

Hey, yes you’ll get a $50 sign up bonus and earn 3% cash back for the first 12 months or $12,000 total spend (whichever comes first). So between the bonus and the 3% offer that’s about $410 on year one.
Keep in mind that to receive the 3% cash back offer, you need to set-up direct deposit.

If I'm understanding this correctly, per the sofi website, if you have direct deposit, you'll get the highest apy no matter if it's $5k
Of course I could be misunderstanding what she said but I was left with the impression that I had to deposit $5,000 every month to maintain the highest apy.
When I look at their website though it says to maintain the highest apy you just have to set up direct deposit
