Sorry to hear the ref say that unlike the rest of the tournament refereeing, of all the games he found the final unacceptable. I particularly enjoyed the commentary about the Serbia game and not only, but the back court and 6 point play stuff were priceless. Well, such is life, it's full of choices for everyone, you may lose a game, you can win another, you can lose a title or an opportunity for market expansion or a job or money, maybe you can get it back. Some things though, you can only lose once, like say, integrity.

However with 7 minutes remaining a 6 point play (that happened because of a bad call) and cut their lead from 11(Which isn't even close to blowing a lead) to 5 (which makes it a 3 position game).
Imo that bad call was completely game changing.

@@philip5454 According to this guy in the video that was not a mistake. Foul on Davis happened when Durant was pulling up for the shot, that's why he called foul and counter a 3p. There are plays like that in euroleague all the time

I’m happy somebody who knows their stuff said it. I also felt the final’s officiating was very bad. It is unexcusable to have this happen in such high stakes games.
Did he count which ones were unsportsmanlike by France? Or just accidental violations? Or purposeful yet still sportsmanlike and why? "Probably not" is my guess...
"Trying to corrupt officials" is unsportsmanlike in basketball and just down right not civil in real life. Which "The Olympics" is a civil competition. Basketball is a sport created by a civilized nation.

What were Referee Scores for other critical matches, specially regarding France, Serbia and USA Travelers?
Worse mistake is ball out for USA instead of France at the end of women game to talk about another game that might have change the whole game.

One thing is number of mistakes the other is their seriousness. In my humble opinion the mistakes favouring France were more impactful in general.

Japan, was a miracle with a last seconds shot that went in ( and yes , the Japanese guy fouled strazel on the tree point shot, I was skeptical at first, bun then I saw replay and especially a photo where the Japanese guy touch strazel on the hip which I think was the contact that was called on the jumpshot )
And Brazil… we were clearly the better team, nothing to say here

The number one thing holding FIBA basketball back is all of the crying about the officiating. If you want a more physical style of play you're always going to be dancing that line on calls. Europeans cried about the officiating in literally every single match for every single sport they didn't win at in the Olympics. The only time Europeans don't cry about officiating is when their team wins. When you cry that often, it falls on deaf ears. Europeans need to learn how to lose gracefully. When officiating becomes an excuse, it also becomes an excuse to not get better.
The number one thing holding FIBA basketball back is the officiating itself, you need to apply same rules for everyone, USA players carrying the ball for 5, 6, 7 steps and being praised for their "amazing footwork" all the time is peak comedy, they're the 2nd worst team at this tournament when it comes to basketball fundamentals, Euro fans are "crying" because team USA is not as dominant as it used to be and they understand that they can actually beat an All-Star team if given fair chance.

You need to see Lbj, embid, Durant kept talking to referees, which is playing against them. What free throw violation? Many marcher were not whistled on USA side, illegal stepping. Also some faults on French side not whistled true but a lot of pushing on rebounds from Canada and USA too…

Europe can't accept that the USA won the tournament. Complaining about the bad calls or saying the USA won because of referees helping them. NBA is still the number-one basketball league in the world and this podcast tries to brainwash that Euroleague is the best hahaha.
