  • Is Teaneck New Jersey Good Or Bad - Pros and Cons
    đŸ‘‰ïž PROS of Teaneck:
    1. Commute
Teaneck is located right by New York City. Teaneck also has a reputation for having one of the best commutes to Manhattan. The bus ride time between Teaneck and Manhattan is around 36 min. The fastest bus takes typically about 30 minutes, making it convenient for people to commute to and from work. After 8 pm to the city, commuting by car is around 20 minutes to the west side of Manhattan because there is no traffic at all. Teaneck is located less than half an hour away from the Newark International airport, with easy access to routes like the George Washington Bridge, bus services to mid-town, and interstates 95 and 80 - making your everyday commute more accessible than ever.
    2. Town Facilities
If you decide to move to Teaneck, just know that you’ll have plenty of options to keep yourself entertained with a lot of the town facilities that the area offers. Teaneck has around 40,000 residents, and all have access to tons of parks such as the Votee Park and lots of sports facilities spread out all over town. There's something for everyone with tons of playgrounds, baseball, soccer, football fields, tennis and basketball courts, walking trails, and picnic areas. Teaneck also has a community Rodda Centre featuring a gymnasium, a dance studio, and tons of multipurpose rooms for all of the community to come together and have a good time.
    3. Local Restaurants
For all those calories you’ll be burning off at all the sports and recreational facilities in the town, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to gain them back with all the restaurants, cafes, and bakeries that you’ll find at every corner Teaneck. Because of the diverse community here, you can find all kinds of cuisines to satisfy your cravings. Teaneck has a lot to offer from Jewish delis, Indian, Mexican, Cuban, and anything else you might ever want.
    4. Small Town Feel
    5. Shopping
If you’re a shopaholic, moving to Teaneck might be the best decision you make for yourself because of all the shopping facilities within 5- 10 minutes away. Example: The American dream mall, The Garden state plaza mall, Paramus outlet, Riverside mall, Costco, Ikea, and many more
    đŸ‘‰ïž CONS of Teaneck:
    1. High Property Taxes
While the town offers you lots of variety in terms of housing, all of that comes with extremely high property taxes. The average property owner pays $12,488 yearly in property tax in Teaneck, which isn’t ideal for everyone. You can research before and discuss with your mortgage broker to understand your monthly mortgage payment and property taxes.
    2. No Trains To the City
I know that we just talked about how great the commute is in Teaneck, but one thing that you need to prepare yourself for is that if you want to go into the city, you don’t have the option to take any trains because it does not exist. The only way to get to the city is to take a bus or commute by car, which isn’t ideal for everyone.
    3. Blue Laws
One of the biggest cons of moving to Teaneck is the Blue Laws implemented all over Bergen County. The Blue Laws state that absolutely no businesses can be open on Sundays unless they are absolutely essential for those who don't know. The only available places are restaurants, parks, and other public spaces. But just about anything else is closed on Sundays, and it is super inconvenient.
    4. The Honking Cargo Train
This con is inconvenient for everyone because every night, residents living in Teaneck start hearing whistles that don’t stop until early in the morning. These trains travel through 11 towns in Bergen County, carrying crude oil and thick tar sand oil straight from Canada.
    5. Town Bureaucracy
Like every other town, Teaneck also has its fair share of bureaucratic procedures that residents have to go through.

@@roncohenrealtor5702 I don’t really notice the train where I am (not that I sleep much anyways) and the housing prices are stupid, but the Sundays laws in Teaneck and Bergen County are stupid. Also, i’ve lost track how many times I went to that smoothie place in Garden State Plaza
