Congrats on the new MTB, can never have too many bikes I say. At 2.59 you try and avoid a purple flowering hedge, wondering if that's those stinging nettles I hear about and I think the white road surface is crushed limestone or maybe chalk.
yes they are sharp so avoid :) chances are the farmers put down the cheapest gravel going. On another note the mrs is twisting my arm to finally do that trip down under in the next 18 months, so I may be stealing some of your routes in 2025/26.

She is not, but she has been at me for years about going. looking at around 3 weeks probably starting at Perth then Coast to Coast on one of them train journeys that take 14 days on railbookers for example! she has a mighty big list of places she wants to visit. Personally I'd like to cycle it, but she's not that keen on keeping up.
@englishcyclist Alas my wife isn't much into cycling too, crafting is her thing. That's a long train trip, I'll stick to flying.
