  • This is the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame (ORMHOF) inductee Larry Ragland's Class 1 unlimited desert racer that was built in 1983 and raced until 1986 when he was picked up by Chevrolet to go factory truck racing. Larry won many races in the car, including two back-to-back Frontier 500's the SCORE "Baja in Barstow" and The Mint 400. The car changed hands a few times until Ed Maurin, a champion BBQ competitor, bought the car in 2011 and began the restoration. His first race in the restored car would be the 2015 NORRA Mexican 1000 (with Larry Ragland sharing the driving). The car won two NORRA races in 2016 and 2017, along with a Mint 400 win in 2017. Ed decided to donate the car to ORMHOF in 2024, and it is currently on display at the Museum of American Speed in Lincoln, Nebraska. ORMHOF would like to thank Ed for his dedication to preserving the great history of the sport of off-road and for his support of the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame. Nobody talks about Larry's two-wheeled days on a Kawasaki. He was one of the best!
