I'm just a bit (okay not 'a bit') nerdy on Automower so here comes some corrections and tips.
It was a long time since those blades cut anything. They have been slashing grass for a long time though.
No, it wasn't the biggest when you got it. 2016 they introduced the 450X (replacing earlier generation big boy 265ACX, but that one never had high cut and I don't know if Husqvarna had tried to enter the US market back then) that is a step up (in the X-line, in Europe we have/had the 440 in between).
Husqvarna started small tests with their EPOS mowers in 2020. Scaling up a bit in 2021 and in 2022 it has widely available. Only the 550 EPOS (commercial line, but they are the same without display). And this year they painted the 550 EPOS and call it the 450X EPOS. We in Europe now get the replacements (NERA) for these mowers that as standard has boundary but an optional kit can upgrade it to EPOS (RTK GPS).
The thing is that RTK GPS isn't the instant fix for everything (which some will lead you to believe). You need to plan so you somewhat have good sight to the reference station and they warn about tree canopy, which you seem to have a lot of. I don't have any EPOS myself but now that you have gone through the initial things with boundary wire I think you should stick with it instead of testing and trying other things.
The tool-free cable shoes on the charging station have a bit of bad reputation, and if you're going to open them up when connecting that tracker - just replace them with normal cable shoes.
When troubleshooting you can measure the resistance in the boundary - it should be below 20 ohm for a green signal. If you get no connectivity or very high (tens of thousands) you can take an AM radio (Amplitude Modulation, not AutoMower) radio, connect only one of the wires (to AL) and walk the line with. The radio picks it up further (foot or yard) from the wire so you don't have to dig through the grass to find it for the other tool. If the lines is only a couple of thousand ohms or less in resistance though the radio picks up the signal further away from breaks where it's just scared a bit.

We have had our 315X since 2019 and had the cables ploughed in by someone who has installed hundreds of mowers with his power tool. There are also wires against voles that have an additional sheath. These were necessary on one side, where the wire was bitten through several times. Objects such as trees or bushes were enclosed by the perimeter wire. Something like the children's playground can also be provided with a temporary boundary that is only active when the space is in use. If you run the wire where the mower finds the charging station in serpentine lines through the garden, it will also find it faster. I have also installed a flap in a gate to the second part of the garden, which works only with gravity, and prevents the cat from travelling but allows the mower to push itself open. You should also not wait too long to replace the blades. This is also done in a few minutes and costs almost nothing. In any case, the mower has reduced the work with the lawn a lot. I find it particularly pleasant that you no longer have to dispose of all the grass cuttings.

Bought ours 2016, still going strong with one service and 50 dollars of new parts, needed to replace the guide wire completely last year, because it had too many patches (42), the signal finder is a must have, although you can find simmular ones for around 20 dollar. Best thing is when the whole neighbourhood has their own, you don't have to hear anyone mowing their lawns anymore

Husqvarna does have big, GPS-Controlled mowers that don't need the wire now. The new 450X Nera EPOS is mowing my lawn since two days and so far, I love it. I have a 2000 square meter (Half an acre) lawn but it only has to run for like 6-9 hours a day. It can do up to 5000 square meters (Over one acre) they claim. It is basically an upgraded 450X.
I did let a professional set it up but I already modified the mowing area. It is so much faster and more convenient than a wire controlled mower. You can move things around on your lawn and set up temporary restricted zones on the map. Setting up a restricted zone around my childrens trampoline for example took like 5 minutes. You basically show it where it has to mow by steering it with your phone. The controls are b bit laggy but it works just fine.

Hello. I have boundary wire across the driveway. One wire is well below grade in a concrete joint. The other wire is in a joint, but it's laying on it moreso and not as protected from hot tires as I would like. Short of cutting into the concrete driveway, is there a product I can use to lay over the wire that lays flat and protects the wire from UV??

I do agree they need to lower their price to compete better with other brands that are more around the 2-3k price. But at the moment the husqvarna version is the best most reliable one out there. Also these mowers can last well over 10 years if maintained so at that point it pays for itself.

My flymo robot mower stopped working straight after the end of the guarantee. Did the straightforward things, battery change and voltage check with multimeter. Website and helpline give a long list of agents but none that I have called (I have called lots) do repairs. So bear in mind you might be replacing it after 3 years. Guess it depends if you think that is good value or not....

Also, why not do the target height when you set it up? It's better for the lawn, looks nicer and if you don't the larger cuttings will just end up lying on top of the lawn. So, *do* bother with target mode, it's worth it.

There are robotic mowers that don't need boundary wires but your issue is you have a lot of tree coverage. The systems used in lawnmowers need line of sight, so if they go under the trees for too long they will lose connection. For 2024 there are at least two companies that are trying to fix this issue by using GPS along with LIDAR..

Please don't use the same blades for an entire season, replace them 2-3 times per year. Your lawn will look nicer when the blades are sharp and, most importantly, you won't damage your mower. The screws that fix the blades to the cutting disc will fatigue due to the blades rotating around them and the screw head might break off. Then you have to buy a new cutting disc which is just wasteful and could have been avoided with proper maintenance. Replace the screws when replacing the blades. New blades come with new screws from Husqvarna, use them :)
