- One of the best road touring motorcycles
Finally, I had the chance to ride the new Yamaha Tracer 9 GT. It is a great travel machine for those who prefer to stay only on the road.

"If you have nothing to do - stay with me" Great, Pavlin...hahahahaha....Tommy
Always!
Heck yeah... I'm at work 😂
@@motorcycleadventures Hello my friend.
I'm in south africa which is great adventure riding country.
My budget is such that most adventure bikes are unattainable.
There are a few immaculate old model 660 tenere that are in a price range from £4000 to £5000.
You can get a 2018 650 v strom for less than that.
My question is have you done a review on this bike to see its capability and most of all its reliability etc?
I just poured a cold beer then I saw this video, now I am going to enjoy both.
Perfect!
You are the best reviewer on YT!
Especially valuable is where you show yourself in the saddle.
Many reviewers omit this important point.
And you don't shy away from the negative stuff either.
Thank you.
Thank you for the review Pablin. I have a 2016 model of this bike, in America was labeled as FJ 09. I'm 1.91 mts tall, and maybe the ergonomics are not the best for tall people like me, yet I keep it for a single basic reason : the power of the engine is just beautiful.
Beautiful review and motorcycle. I was concerned about the heat and thank you for discussing so many aspects of the bike and being so thorough with your review. Definitely a great value!
Glad it was helpful!
Great review Pavlin, I have the 2016 tracer . Moved from a 1250 gsf. What an amazing bike . So comfortable and lots of power. Fun to ride on twisties . Great balance. I need a taller screen . 1.92. But really enjoy it . Very comfortable and nice ride position. . Love your channel .
Good choice, Trevor! Thanks for taking the time!
Thanks for a great review, I chose the Tracer 9 GT. Its a great machine with a lot of great features. Yamaha knocked it out of the park.
Good choice!
I was excited to watch this video
Thanks Pavlin 👍
Glad to hear that!
Hallo Pavlin, really great review, really got a feel for the bike sitting behind your camera. I have ordered one 3 months ago her in Denmark and now I cannot wait to get it.
Glad it was helpful!
One of my "dream engines"
I understand why!
Great review Pavlin. I'm a big fan of Yamaha's and have owned several. This looks to be another fantastic bike. Great job 👍
It really is! Thanks for taking the time!
Thank you for another lovely video. This time about the very well made Yamaha tracer 9 GT. For coincidence I’ve made the test ride of it today also, and I think I can say your impressions are true because I felt the same. Of course that it isn’t like riding a BMW 1250 RT, but for almost half of the price this Yamaha tracer GT gives you in general everything you need for touring and for city riding also. With the panniers and a top case maybe you can buy it under €15.000. You don’t have the electric massive wind shield, you don’t have heated grips and seats, you don’t have Active cruise control, and you don’t have induced ventilated mobile charging spot like in the RT, and you don’t have all the electronic devices like telelever and paralever that do everything for you in that department But mainly, you have a good and I say sporty engine there, very competent, you have very decent brakes, and the Yamaha doesn’t weight 260kgs, dry. Is lighter, more nimble and comfortable enough to do almost every use you can imagine trough tarmac or asfalte roads. So, it is a great option if you don’t want to ride on sandy or off-road tracks. I think that the red one is beautiful and goes along with the engine and the general aesthetic looks of the bike. It’s a wonderful choice. For longer trips, I maybe could invest in a taller wind shield as a spare part, just for traveling. Thank you my friend. I’ve been watching your videos for the past year and I find your opinions, assertive and intelligent. You love bikes and riding them and you know what you’re talking about. Keep up this useful and well made work.🙏🏼
Thanks for taking the time, man!
I have the 2020 tracer 900gt. Most fun motorcycle I have owned. The engine is like no other. Thanks for reviewing it Pavlin, and wish u the best on your upcoming trip!
My pleasure! Thanks for taking the time, Kevin!
Bike looks great! I like the comment on being able to keep your visor open. I have finally adjusted my screen to where I'm happy with it, and at 60mph I am perfectly comfortable with my visor open. Screens are so personal though!
Thanks for taking the time!
Great video Pavlin - I think I am going to enter you into next years MotoGP.
I appreciate your English is not too good, when you discribe how the bike sticks to the road you need to say " the bike sticks to the road like shit to a blanket" - thank you for your great content - be blessed
Ha ha ha, thanks for the correction, Daniel!
Pavlin, they haven't made bad motorbikes for years. You have to buy a motorcycle for what you want to do with it and you have to get to know your motorcycle. But many CZcamsrs can praise or tear down an motorbike even if they have only driven it for half an hour. I am now 60 years old and have been riding since I was 9, what should we call those bikes we rode in the past “Molotovcocktails”.
Recently I had a person with ABS problems, who did not dare to drive any further. "You can't drive a motorcycle without ABS, that's life-threatening. 😉
It is what it is! I am ok with 2 and 200!
I have a 2016 tracer 900 and never get tired of riding it,great video again pavlin👍
Glad you enjoy it!
wow. i never thought i would find this kind of review. excellent !! good work and thanks Mr.
Thanks for the review! Found it quite useful! Also kudos for good English 💪🏼
Glad it was helpful!
Max out the f/r preload and set damping extra firm 3/4+. Replace the chain immediately with a quality DID and add a few teeth in the rear for better gearing spread. Really a brilliant motorcycle.
It is briliant right from the shop!
What a beautiful bike for the street.
Yes, it is road bike.
I like to watch motorcycle reviews where the rider is really enjoying themselves as you did. If I did not have my fjr 1300 this would be one of the top choices.
Maybe in the future.
great all around review, yamaha owe you for showcasing their bikes.
Glad you like them!
Great review.
Is it just me, or the older model looks better?
A matter of choice!
new model looks much better, old one is ugly
Man! I felt your fun all the way in Budapest! I've been looking at this bike but still have to hold onto my 2008 FZ1 GT a bit longer as I still can't afford to replace her yet. Love this video!
Thanks for taking the time!
Pavlin is both hard core and cool as a pickle. 100 mph, no hands. Damn, I want to ride with you Papa Pavlin
With this bike it is not a problem at all.
Ordered this bike thank you for the review :)
Have fun!
@@motorcycleadventures Oh I think I will......Monday I should have a massive smile on my face :)
Great Show Pav, as always.
Thanks, Marty!
Surely I would like to test ride this bike, but my instinct tells me that for a sophisticated tourer, I would go for a R1250GS. Did 225 km/ hr on the 1200 gs, and it feels comfortable, safe and solid, with no drama. For a basic tourer I would choose the Tenere 700. For a sport tourer, I would choose the Kawasaki ninja Z1000sx. Just my preference.
Ride whatever is good for you!
its a very nice bike, brakes are o.k.,engine lots of power. light steers well. really nice!!!
Very nice review. I always like your review-videos as well as your travel-tipps. Furthermore I enjoy when seeing you riding in Varna as my wife also comes from there and I know most places in Varna you show in your videos. This bike is also one I would very much like to have but for the time being I will have to stay with my 21 years old Honda NT650 V Deauville which still runs pretty fine and I also like very much.
best regards / mnogo pozdravi from Munich
Hans Dieter
Glad you like the videos, Hans! All the best!
Really nice test ride. I have a 2018 Tracer and I really enjoy it. Thanks 👍🇨🇦
My pleasure!
After a long time..seen u riding to the fullest and in speed.. Hope u get ur new bike soon from Yamaha.. All the best..
Thanks for taking the time and for the wishes, Anthony!
A Great Motorcycle for pavement only .. the 2021 model has enough improvments that I am more willing to pay extra and buy new over an older used one..
It's great that a few Manufactuers are accomodating us short legged riders.. with adjustable seat height.. I think the 2021 has a considerably lower seat height in the lower position,...
Fair enough!
Triumph Tiger 900/850 short legged riders
@@denitko I did rent a Tiger 1200 with Extra Low seat.. yes the seat was low but it was a heavy beast too .. and had street tires on it ..
I probobly will end up with a Tenera 700 and that has a very high seat like 34" A tall seat height is not much problem on a dirt bike .. but take a heavier bike and add a lot of luggage and then they are hard to hold up in many situaitons..
Brilliant cool stuff thank you 🙏
Great review. Also nice to see new tarmac on the road to Avren.
Glad you liked it!
It's very nice to see what you think about this bike. I think this bike looks promising enough.
It is a great travel option for those who prefer to stay on the road.
according to the press and first owner there is no problem with speed over 160 when you change the suspension to mode A (sport).
Good to know.
I just started watching, let's see how good it is!
Great!
Well, thank you for the detailed test ride! However, you haven't comment anything on the suspension! How was it?
It is great!
I like the 900 but after going to my local dealer who was absolutely dreadful! I went and purchased a Ducati Multistrada 950s.......... and I'm so glad I did, thanks Yamaha!
Enjoy your new toy!
True!
@@motorcycleadventures it's a shame that great bike makers like Yamaha are let down by some poor dealers 😪
If you continue riding like this, Rev it needs to send you a racing leather dress 🤣🤣
That will be nice!
I wish can have one in Malaysia 🤤😭🤤can't wait
It is what it is!
Great review, I have the '19 GT.
great review as always, ride safe
Thanks, you too!
At the end : difference between the ground and the sky.... but the simple, basic, pleasure of riding is always present, I am sure.
True!
Now i have get one love speed test 👌 naughty boy lol great review
Thanks 👍!
Thanks for sharing this experience with us, Pavlin. Really a beautyful bike. What city is this?
My pleasure! The town is Varna.
@@motorcycleadventures what a beautyful city!!!
It really is!
Thank you Pavlin!!!Amazing.
Glad you liked it!
Another excellent review
I appreciate that!
Great as usual!
Thanks, man!
Absolutely blast :)
True!
I had the pleasure to have one for a couple of days and some 300 kms (I am actually preparing to take it back as I write this). Amazing machine for quick stints but it tends to get me tired after a couple of hours. At my height (176) it's not the best seating position. The seat is too wide and I cant flatfoot because the damn foot pegs are in the way. The seat is also canted forward a bit and that combined with the handlebars that dictate a straight seating position means most of the weight of the torso is felt on the lower back. Also being a spirited machine, I find myself pushing it because it feels amazing and then ... I get tired :) The dash becomes a problem when it gets wet, as in it's very hard to see anything on it, even the speed. The buttons are a bit weirdly arranged but I guess one can get used to that. The menu wheel on the right handle bar though is annoying as hell and you need that to start/set the level for the heated grips (among other things). Besides this, everything is a plus, except I found myself pretty often reaching 150-160 while overtaking. Damn thing flies :)
Thanks for sharing!
What I really like the most is the engine sound, because of magic of three cylinders 😉
Mind the speed limits Pavlin 😉👊
Noted!
Yamaha should check how dashboard should be from ducati multistrada v4 or bmw mottorad
I think that they did a woinderful job.
Thanks for your impressions of the bike. It was a good driving test, with what is really important. Hug
Anytime, Mario!
Worth buying one just to listen to that engine.
True!
good I had nothing to do, I got to watch an honest review. 👍
Thanks for watching!
Pavlin , I catch all your reviews. Refreshing! My question is if you are riding a bike that suggest premium fuel do you have a problem finding such fuel? Do you run regular anyway? Or do you stay away such motorcycle and lean toward bikes with regular fuel? Cost alone could be a significant savings.9GT is premium.
I ride simple bikes and fill regular petrol.
I would immediatly change the ugly plastic brake fluid reservoir with the older version. This one sticks out like a sore thumb.
Interesting to hear that windscreen is very good since on MCN review was the subject of main criticism...
It is good for me.
Hi Pavlin, great video ! I laughed when you said you noticed the difference between your motorcycle and the tracer. I get that too when I get off a test ride and jump back on my bike. I feel like mine is a lot heavier, does not have enough engine power nor brakes :))
I really enjoy your review videos and I hope you will make more. I don't know how you get the ride test bikes, but I would appreciate it if you could review the V-Strom 1000 (2014-2019 years), if you have the chance. I am looking to upgrade to it and I would like your opinion on that bike.
Thanks for taking the time! I will ride it when I have the chance.
Just rode down the same roads just a few hours ago. See you soon.
Great!
Great review as always :).. would you review the Tiger 900 Rally Pro one day? would love to see them
Yes, very soon.
@@motorcycleadventures looking forward to it. Cheers mate.
Great bike & Bulgaria is a beautiful country.
Absolutely!
Great drive
Absolutely!
Thx a lot for this Video! The two separate Screens are really interesting! Is it possible to display a full Navigation on one of them?
Unfortunately not!
That 3 cylinder engine noise :) I'll buy that bike for that engine only!
Cool!
I think her ladyship would live the pillion's seat on that. Lovely tourist, but not travel bike. But very nice.
Happy travels
Agree! Thanks for watching, Richard!
hello my friend.. i enjoy to see your videos and would like to know if i do mostly street riding should i keep my tenere 700 of change it to this model gt tracer ..i know you have tenere 700 so what is give you more pleasure to ride ?
Love from Bangladesh
Thanks!
I have the 2nd gen. naked version at less than 190kgs (after some mods) it's even more fun! :)
Good!
Hi Pavlin, how tall are you?Was the Tracer windscreen enough to prevent excessive windblast and buffeting of the helmet?tq
I am 185cm. It was okay.
@@motorcycleadventures tq sir
Nice video again Pavlin. You passed a museum at 13:18? Is there a army museum in Varna?
Yes, but very small.
Good review
Glad you enjoyed it, David!
can you make a video about the honda xadv
When I have the chance I will!
I like Tracer 9GT
Me either!
I will keep my old one tracer 900... I do not like the new from wherever I see it ...
Try it first.
@@motorcycleadventures I will do it at the first opportunity ....
Hi how's the suspension setting on the comfort mode with bad road conditions? Planing to buy this in the philippines and we have very bad roads.
It s okay
Seems you were really impressed with this Tracer over the KTM 890 Adventure. The Yamaha seems so planted on the highway like there is no difference between 80kmh and 160kmh. Crazy! How do you compare the engines between the triple and the twin for the street and highway only?
It is perfect for highways!
So Pavlin you like the brakes ? I think you have also found your next bike. Ride safe.
The brakes are great but my next bike will be Tenere 700.
why quick shifter i have dct its better one butten thats all
Because everyone is different. I prefer to have the gears!
Impressive👍
Thanks for the visit, Sasha!
Hi! What model number of GIVI tank flange did you use for the Tracer9 GT? Thank you
Let me check
Thank you for this nice information about the Tracer, its a nice bike.......but its not possible for me to buy it .
I understand!
Hi Pavlin! You forgot about grabbing a beer in your invitation! What happened? Is Kamenitza not so tasty? -::)))
True, I forgot it! Next time!
Ok now what about crossing a river, or technical off road.
Can you show us.
Not with this model. czcams.com/video/HAhXi_l5Jgk/video.html
Aaah Man ! that instrument cluster...... looks like a fighter cockpit.
Absolutely!
It's like a scuba diver is looking at you all the time. Didn't like it.
Why are you ignoring speed limits almost all the time? Crossing the middle line where it is not allowed?....
I never said that I am perfect!
I think that exhaust underneath is a flaw. Even light off road is impossible
True
Do you know if I can use GP Shift (reverse shift) with this bike??? Thank you.
If you mean down shifting, yes.
@@motorcycleadventures no, I mean can you flip shifting. Push down to up shift instead of push down to down shift
@@aaronlee0203 No
Any wobbles? the previous tracer showed wobbles during the high speeding.
A little after 170km/h
Not fixed yet. Thx bro.
What would cause that wobble? The effects of the screen?
@@Nick-Gye well it seems to be caused by rear swing arm length or rear suspensions behaviors? I do not exactly know that.
Fastest I’ve seen you ride
Okay!
Cp3 is one of the best engine you can choice, I love it 👌
Couldn't agree more!
actually i ve got a lot to do now 😅 will see later
No worries, the video will be there for a long time!
amazing review. Thank you very much for making it
Bro why don't you to review low cc bike like MT 15..
I test what I have the chance to test. These low cc motorcycles are not so popular in Europe.
@@motorcycleadventuresbrother don't think about only Europe. Think about world..
I’m in pavlin
Great!
Тоя двигател тегли на 6-та като нормален на 4-та. Хем мотора е тежък и ездача над 100 кг. Само заради двигателя си струва целия мотор.
Съгласен съм!
Now u can try to upgrade..
Not with this model.
@@motorcycleadventures we r waiting when u r going to upgrade.. but may be 20**..😁😁
I have interest only from one model, the new Tenere. I will buy it when I have the chance.
Please don't take your hands off the bars.
Okay
