thanks for the vid. i replaced the rear speakers in my 2016 fiesta ST after they started to rattle. i ended up not needing to remove the big panel because i was able to remove the old and fit the new speaker by sticking my arm in there with a ratchet and a torx bit. i just bent the panel out of the way to access the screws. i did loosen the rest of the trim to give myself a tiny bit of extra room, but i may have been able to get away with just pulling the trim from the door. i will try on the other side and report back
This is an excellent video, thank you! I had a rattling sound and now it's sorted, I removed everything, cleaned, and put everything back. It could have just been one of the clips making the noise but the video is so good that I thought might as well remove everything. One tip - it might be easier to remove the bolt of seatbelt as the seatbelt gets in the way all the time and is annoying. You will find the bolt by lifting the whole back seat. By removing the bolt you can rest the seatbelt in the boot because you will be moving the back seat down and up quite a lot, so it would be better to have the seatbelt out the way! Hope this helps! Again, many thanks for the great video!
Mine seems to be doing this, does yours do it when ever driving over uneven surfaces? It’s so annoying i feel like I’m constantly looking over my shoulder looking for the noise I’ve had everything out the boot the only thing I can think of that it’s behind there? 😢
@@c_red_edition9587I have a scorpion non resonated exhaust so the rumble of the exhaust meant it was a constant rattle from the speakers.
Thanks very much for this life saving tutorial!
Ford Fiesta 2006 or MK5, I removed both bottom and back seat, I made the mistake to buy 6.5" round coaxial speakers while the oval 5x7" are the most appropriate ones so you don't need any adaptor also you don't risk to have speaker touching the panel!
Great vid, explained the steps perfectly
So glad I've a four door, very informative, will tackle rear doors if we get a rain free summer in Manchester....lol (IF) cheers PJs.
I just did this on my ST 2014 to fix a rattling speaker, your video was really, really helpful!
However, the panel shape on the facelift or ST seems to be a bit different. You've got a huge pocket for storage that makes it almost impossible to remove the panel without taking damage. I think it would better to remove the rear backrest beforehand. I used pinching, squeezing, wiggling and some brute force and finally got it out with a few minor scratches. I'd not recommend to do that if you dont have to.
Hi! I'm looking to do exactly the same with my 2017 ST as I too have a rattle in the rear trim (on both sides)! Not sure if it's the speaker or flimsy trim clips but need to take the trim off to investigate.
Did you fix your rattle? If so what was the cause and how did you do resolve it?! Thanks!
@@jamesboon7240 Yes, changing the speaker fixed it for me. I think in most cases you can tell by listening, whether it is the speaker or loose trim. A broken speaker membrane has a quite distinct, flapping sound when playing loud bass. However, Ford has become very good in producing cheap, but good quality interior. So it is very unlikely things break off itself. Hope this helps out, good look fixing your little rocket 🚗💨
Goood mornin. Nice made video. I have planed to put a subwoofer into the trunk and I need to get to the speaker for the high input of the amplifier... And for the big red cable from the battery....
Thanks for the video !
thank you for this video
I just wanted to point out to people trying this.
I tried to do this on my ST and the pocket is a bit different as someone mentioned so you have to remove the backrest completly beforehand not hard a few T50 screws and remove the backrest through the front door and not the trunck or you will scratch everything like i did.
About the screw at 4:36 don't hesitate just break it, it s useless and a pain in the ass to remove. Apart from that very good video.
really useful---thanks
I want to replace the back speakers as mine are currently so rattly. However this really does seem more hassle than it's worth. Why is it so complicated with so many panels needing to be removed?! :(
How did you manage to get them working? I've put speakers on, connected forscan but it can't see ACM module, exactly same stereo as the one in your video thanks.
Edit:
Ive managed to turn the speakers on, if you have basic model with no speakers Forscan software is needed to change speakers quantity from 4 to 6.
Where can u find the adopters
Links for products ?
Hi, I have exactly same headunit but my car is 5dr, I bought 4 speakers from ST version.
Fitted front speakers with no issues whatsoever
On rear I have same foam covers as yours, but I havent got wires for speakers.
Any idea what I should do?
WHERE we're wire's..I have same problem
you will need to run your own set of wires to each door and wire them into the harness behind your stereo for them to function
Hi, video is really Great, I've done front doors and gonna do back as per the video, just a question.... How long does the whole thing take to remove and swap over..? Cheers
If you allow about an hour aside you should be good. It's best to take your time rather than risk damage.
@@PJsprojects ahh Brill, thanks for quick reply, got some nice Alpines to go in to match front 👍🏻👌🏻🙂👌🏻👍🏻
@@PJsprojects ..does the standard stereo have a balance option for front and rear speakers i always likr to have my back speakers louder.
Anyone elses have a bag of foam and an inch of foam matt inside??? I pulled it apart to try and put something in there to stop vibrations but yeh...
Did this today but have no sound coming from the rear speakers any ideas?
it's not possible another useless video on youtube the stereo does not have fade in the menu so does not have rear speakers setting. Give the video a thumbs down.
@@theprogrammerrolandmc3039 it actually does work you need to enable the rear speakers in forscan I did it for a mates 3 door fiesta once enabled you will get the fade option pop up on the settings in the radio menu.
@@djflava1980 cheers i was looking to do this my 3 door mk7 fiesta has no rear speakers but on the ford forums people are saying there is no way to add fade and you have to activate just to get rear speakers working
I really dont think i will bother
Hope someone can help me, is there a possibility that I will have to get the radio recoded to play the rear speakers?
No, not at all.
@@PJsprojects ..on the ford forums they say you do have to have it activated and it's not cheap £180
@@theprogrammerrolandmc3039 if you are from greater manch I can activate them for you £30
What size U clips do you need?
i need to know this too!
Great video! How do i know if my Fiesta is pre wired?
It's a case of either popping the rear quarter trim panel off and having a look for the cable or removing the head unit to see if the multi plug is fully populated. Most of the Fiesta models are pre wired.
Is there a dash kit for upgrading the head unit to a double din?
Can i not just cut the circle bit out that has the speaker with a stanley knife then glue it back in after swapping the speaker?
@@2poor4gdname91 That would be a very messy way to do it.
Can you do it by cutting the speaker mesh grill, with a dremel? 😂
No sound after install
needs activating with computer
Nice vid a lot of information but too much jabbering on and your sounds very stuck up
