Yes, the addition of the trumpet to the music theme in Season 2 makes a world of difference and the turnaround shot for Pamela Sue Martin in Season 2 is awesome.
@@christophepilaire7868 Agree! Love the opening scene. My twin sister and I used to watch this with our mom back then. I used to like the lines across the screen. Looked really cool.

It really pissed them off. He was an eccentric funny character. He's beeen gone many many years now, but we all often have a chuckle about it now as well as some of his other bizarre antics. Me too! I always looked for Sammy Jo/Heather every week. I read she was only a recurring regular the seasons 2-4. Then permanently in the cast at the time 5-9. Lived for Sammy Jo.
I have not seen this show nor heard this theme song for decades. And yet I woke up at 3:30 AM with this tune playing in my head. The brain is a strange thing!
This music is very, very, very beautiful, melodical and aristocratic. Just perfect for the beginning of this telenovela! Beijos da Bulgaria e do Brasil!!! (Kisses from Bulgaria and Brazil!!! )
What a wonderful time, this show was amazing, glamour, great actors and the best opening ever, Pamela Sue Martin , Al Corley and Joan Collins, were a true joy to watch. Those were the times.
I remember watching this with my mom when I was a young girl, it was our thing. The theme was so regal. I knew when I'd hear it, it was time to run to the tv room.
While in elementary school, me and my friend saw ourselves as some of the male leads (can't remember who was who) and our female school crushes and classmates as female leads. Good times. It's like we upped our everyday lives to something more grandiose through this series. I feel that although deeply fictional, it was a good exercise in developing interpersonal skills.
In my youth I used to watch this and be jealous of them admire them look up to them but now i see how empty this life is now that I'm older and wiser 😁

It's telling that in this season - when she'd only just arrived - Joan Collins isn't in her customary place as the final member of the cast. After this season she was basically the character that the titles were building up to.
Wow My Mom loved this show. I watched it a kid hereband there as well. Havent seen this since the early 80s. All these characters look so young. All the woman were so naturally pretty. Kinda makes ya sad. The theme kinda makes ya feel nostalgic as fuck.
Al Corley was the best Steven, Pamela Sue Martin was the best Fallon and I wish James Farentino had been on the show longer. His exit at the end of Season 2 was anti-climatic and while he's mentioned in Season 3 a few times, he's never seen or heard from again. I was very disappointed about that. Season 2 is pretty good, though. I enjoyed John Saxon's guest appearance.

Season 2 intro was much better than season 1 with the trumpet playing the main melody. The shots of the cast also improved: Forsythe looks more elegant and confident sipping brandy by the fire, Corley ripping off his tie, and Joan Collins the femme fatale smoking with a quellazaire.
If you were a kid and heard this song in the distance on the living room tv you knew you were up past your bedtime!
Same with the Magnum PI Theme for me in the 80s.
This !
