The Sanders Sides did actually start with Anxiety and was always educational about understanding and accepting all parts of oneself and learning to do exactly what this episode explicitly talks about, which is to work *with* your emotions and not let them rule you. I'm definitely looking forward to you watching more!!!
If you want to see Patton's (Morality) room, then MOVING ON parts 1 and 2 are where Thomas and the Sides go there! Other good ones are: Can Lying be GOOD?, Selfishness vs Selflessness, and Dealing with INTRUSIVE THOUGHTS. 5:13 Each side has a name, but until they decide to tell Thomas their names, they're just called whichever concept they represent. Logan is Logic, Creativity becomes Roman, Morality becomes Patton, and Anxiety becomes Virgil. Later on in the series, we also meet Janus, who represents deceit, and Remus, who represents intrusive thoughts. I highly recommend watching the intrusive thoughts episode. It's so good, and Remus's song is a bop.

The episode about intrusive thoughts was very helpful for explaining what was happening to me and I don't think I'd be where I am today without Remus Sanders. I have an anxiety disorder that comes with panic attacks, and a big part of it is intrusive thoughts about getting hurt, low self esteem, and hurting others.

Honestly I get that so much! I suffer from OCD (Harm OCD specifically) and using Remus' character and all of the advice in the episodes with him has been a major part of my recovery. All the respect in the world to Thomas Sanders.

I really hope you actually watch these episode in order, it's really interesting to see how they all develop. Both the characters and the deep themes that they discuss. It isn't making sense to you because you started right in the middle. This is actually the 2 part special at the end of the first major arc of episodes which had been building up since the beginning. Sanders Sides is honestly so amazing. The Intrusive Thoughts video has helped me a lot personally, so has the Anxiety two parter. And so have other Sanders Sides videos.
I also really just like the characters.
Matthew’s track of mind as he started realizing Anxiety’s importance reminds me of myself when I felt started seeing any psychologist for my anxiety disorder 😂

also, Patton saying “i’ve been theorizing about it (Virgil’s name) for a while now and if it’s not exactly what i think it is i will lose it” is an inside joke for the fandom because all the other characters had already reveled their names and Virgil was the last one. his name reveal took a lot longer than the other sides and the fandom went crazy trying to figure it out. like i remember having in depth discussions with other fanders (Thomas’ fandom name) about what we thought his name was gonna be. so yeah now you have context 👏

Soooo, I know you have a lot on your plate already, but this is one I'd love to see you watch in order, as there *is* continuity in these, strangely enough. He even has an official, in order playlist, and there's even bloopers to enjoy! Obviously the bloopers don't need a reaction vid, but still. If you watch them, having the full order/continuity will most likely bring more enjoyment. And I know we'd probably all enjoy seeing you follow the journey of Thomas!

This series is basically like if Riley could talk to her emotions from Inside Out. And if the emotions were a lot more complicated than just "happy" and "sad"
Logan is his Logical side. Roman is his Creative side. Patton is his Morality side. And Virgil is obviously his Anxiety side.

Im glad you watched Sander's sides but the fact you started here means you dont get the stress of how dragged out it was to get Anxiety's name. All the Sanders sides videos are them working together and getting better at communicating. There are also a few other sides on occasion that fill in other parts of Thomas' mind and he (Roman) does role playing and he has played a few games as the others.

Ahhhh you definitely picked a good episode to dive in on. Summary of the characters-
Roman (aka Princey)- Creativity- very dramatic and acts like he's better than others
Logan- Logic- Takes everything very factual and literally. Can get a lil snappy with the others
Patton- Morality- Very sweet, considered the dad character. A lil toooo optimistic sometimes
Virgil- Anxiety- Nervous and grumpy, but clearly cares deeply for the others, including Thomas

18:48 im gonna be a literature nerd for a second but that idea of a “creativity disorder” was actually explored in a short story that i can’t remember the name of lol. In the story, a boy had an extremely heightened imagination that made him see metaphors and symbolism in EVERYTHING to the point of him being put in a mental asylum. It made me realize being too creative can actually be bad for you lol

glad you liked _sanders sides!_ it's definitely an interesting concept, but a fun one nonetheless. for the sake of understanding the four main sides better, i'll quickly explain what each of their names mean and how they correlate to the character:
logan - named after aristotle's logical appeals (logos); in thomas's vines, was originally the "teacher" character
patton - named after aristotle's emotional appeals (pathos), as well as the term "paternity", as patton - in thomas's vines - was originally the "dad" character; patton is thomas's heart
roman - based off of romanticism and the romantic movement, a lot of romantic literary works revolved around knights/princes (hence, the nickname "princey"), plus, he was originally the "prince" character in thomas's vines
virgil - latin origin of unknown meaning, theorized to mean "vigil"; the character of virgil appears in _dante's inferno,_ wherein he (virgil) guides dante out of the underworld, which is similar-ish to virgil guiding thomas and the other sides out of his room in _accepting anxiety: part two_

I've said this a few times but I'm so glad Sander's Sides was the first fandom I majorly took part in. The content is so comforting and clever with the majority of the videos having great messages in them, and the fandom was/is filled with so many kind and supportive people. Thank you fanders :)

You should absolutely watch the whole Sanders Sides series in order! It's a whole lot of fun, and all of the videos have something relatable at its core. There's a LOT of amazing lessons that he offers, while still maintaining a fun atmosphere.

Yes ! I recommend seeing all of them ! The first videos aren't really long (it goes on longer and longer with time) and very profond, but each one of them deserves a reaction, specially since they began to talk about more profond concepts.
My God, Sanders Sides!!!! I remember watching from the very beginning after Thomas got hyper fixated on Inside Out up until their amazing costume changes and intricate plots, Ironically, Sander Sides helped me with a couple of my Psychology classes for school 😂 lol. Joan did indeed have a handy in writing these representations as well as actual a Psychologist who helped Thomas to understand these concepts. Sander Sides are great. FYI Logan (Logic) Virgil (Angst) Patton (Innocent, carefree, fun loving) and Roman (Creativity) all of them were named after great thinkers. Pretty sure the others were too

i’d really LOVE to see your reaction to more sanders sides eps (ideally in chronological order) the episode on intrusive thoughts was literally the only reason i was able to overcome my own intrusive thoughts that were causing me horrific insomnia for days in a row. it’s always great when a series is able to be entertaining and relatable yet still educational and introspective at the same time.

Fun fact: this was one of the shows I watched during quarantine and it really helped me with things like realizing I had intrusive thoughts or helping with my anxiety. I even cosplayed as a certain yellow fiend and my brother as Patton
Also I say the closest to a “creative disorder” would probably be something like maladaptive daydreaming. There are times I’ve struggled to get things done cause I could spent up to hours stuck in a daydream. Like anxiety, creativity needs to be in doses

It’s so cool seeing somebody experience a piece of media for the first time that was so influential in raising me and shaping me into who I am today, especially for them to get it so completely.
I’ve been watching Thomas since he was on vine and followed him over to CZcams back around 2016. I watched the first sanders sides video when it came out and have been a fan since. I remember the first part of this coming out and it was the LONGEST 5 days of my life waiting for part 2. I remember I just spent that time rewatching the series up until that point over and over again and constantly refreshing his page to check if part 2 had been uploaded yet lol (I was like 11 at the time). Virgil has always been and always will be my favorite character and these episodes were the culmination of the nuances that were present throughout the series up until that point that were the reason why he was my fav. Thomas is such an intelligent, funny, talented, and genuine creator and it has been a privilege watching him all these years. Thank you so much Thomas. This reaction video just shows that your videos have held up against the test of time and that they are still so poignent and have something to say today.
Thomas's storytelling is phenomenal. He was able to get Mathew to realize anxiety is a normal human survival function, it' just when it runs wild that it becomes disordered and can be harmful. But in the day to day, it is a tool to keep you safe and helps you learn to improvise, adapt, overcome. Like, srsly, a lot of society does not understand that and only views it in a negative light, when really, it's a form of human spidey senses. Also this personifying different aspects of yourself to tackle issues can be really useful and can help you see things more objectively. Doing lil round tables with yourself can help your mental health and help you understand yourself better. It's not for everyone but it doesn't hurt to give it a try. 🤷♀️

What you said about not feeling pain is so true. I have a birth defect that caused nerve damage in my feet, so I can't feel anything in them & they're completely paralyzed. And whenever I tell people I don't feel pain in them, they're like "oh, that must be nice", but.. I can't walk barefoot outside. And I'm technically not supposed to inside either, but there's much less that could hurt me. I still have to be mindful though & check my feet for scratches & stuff every so often bc I won't know if I step on something sharp & it could get infected or something. So it isn't completely terrible & life altering, but it's still annoying sometimes lol
I honestly really hope you do watch more of these in order, because that would be amazing. I haven't had a Sanders Sides phase for a while so seeing them again like this will probably kick it off again lol
