    I have used one of these for years. It is also perfect for cooking Tilapia or Salmon sprayed with butter and seasoned using BOTH FLAT plates, in the Panini press. Done very quickly and perfectly cooked. BUT It needs to be on a level surface maybe slightly tipped to the back, or the grease will run over the sides. Smashed burgers are better with the flat plates. As for splatter, I cut one side of a box which covers the entire area (3 sides exposed), and set the griddle in there while its cooking.

    Got mine at Goodwill for $6 -- no kidding.
    Looked like brand new without a box or manual.
    Does great with burgers, but just as well with grilled cheese sandwiches, chops, steaks, chicken breasts, fish, paninis -- and don't forget eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns and pancakes, (using the griddle surfaces, of course).
    For cleaning the plates, just soaking works great and they rinse clean as new.

    Just a Dad your detail was excellent in explaining the controls and other features than some of the other videos on the product. I love the Grill feature that I use with my George Foreman Grill from about 10 years ago but Teflon flaking. I love cooking my sausages and chicken breasts so this looks like a better replacement at a better price. Great Review thanks.

    I find the center switch quite confusing. If both plates heat up regardless of which side the middle switch is pointing to, why have 3 dials? I must be misunderstanding his explanation.

    Nice video and well explained. My question is why is this 5 in 1 if there are only 2 options (griddle and grill)?

    I'm looking at grabbing one of these, mostly for the griddle aspect and cooking eggs, bacon, sausage etc all at the same time. The thing I hate about my current griddle is it doesn't heat evenly across the entire surface. Now that you've used yours awhile, how is it with just the griddle and doing eggs, pancakes, bacon, etc? Love to know how evenly the surfaces heat up. Thanks!

    Hi, wondering if when one cooks Hamburgers, and put it with both plates on the (top and bottom of the hamburger), I recall in the video you said that only the bottom plate will be active in terms of heat and not the top. I am wanting something like the George Foreman grill where both top and bottom plates will be active when you "sandwich" the burger when cooking. Hope you can clarify.

    Ive been looking at this for a while. I have a Foreman grill and I hate having it half-tilt it in the sink to clean. I’m wondering if there are other plates for it like waffle plates. Is there a failsafe that keeps the lid “off” if it’s set at 90 degrees so you don’t accidentally touch it and burn yourself.

    • @JustADad
      @JustADad  Před rokem +1

    I want to buy a griddler it's actually under $100 on Amazon right now which is a good price the only thing is there's some conflicting info on CZcams one person said that the griddle side control knob only heats the bottom plate where this video it states the griddle side heats both plates which I tend to believe more.

    • @JustADad
      @JustADad  Před 2 lety +3

      I read the directions and it said both sides heat. and I checked mine, both side heat in both modes. The only reason I see having to modes it you control the temp different depending on which mode you are in.

  • @paddyflak

    How do you crack a raw egg onto it without the egg sliding off the griddle plate? My table is level, but the plate slopes to the back at a big enough angle that if I don't have a spatula ready to corral the egg, it slides off the back very quickly and pretty soon I have a table covered in raw egg.
    I can shim the back legs, but it seems like that shouldn't be necessary when pics of non-sliding eggs are featured in the marketing for this product.

  • @kronos5385
    @kronos5385 Před 7 měsíci

    Are you sure that the griddle dial heats up the upper plate? That doesn't make much sense to have left and right dials that heat up both plates. In some other reviews CZcamsrs state that the griddle function only heats up the bottom plate and the panini dial heats up both plates. Can you check? I haven't ordered one yet but I will when I find out this question. At 5:40 you state that whichever control you use both plates heat up.
