  • I turned this one into a ASMR kinda video, so grab a cuppa and watch how I, in real time, carve this black and white sgraffito vase.
    The clay is Laguna wc609 and the Mason stain I used to color the slip is their Velvet Black.
    Happy potting!

      A year ago danish government desided, that we Can not import anything from outside Europe unless we pay importfee+danish taxes. Importfee Will be 12,5% and taxes Will be 25%. And Then sometimes YOU have to pay a courier to get it out of custom🙄

    Dear monique it is so gourgeos. Do YOU mind telling how much Black Mason stain YOU put it your slip? I can’t get mine Black - it is more gray’ish. I love your vase, and I wish YOU were closer, Then I would buy one. Custom for getting one to Denmark is horrible🥺. Thanks for your videos - love Them❤️🙏

    • @nukuaceramicsbonaire
      @nukuaceramicsbonaire  Před 3 měsíci

      Thank you four your kind words Lisbeth! Sure I'll share; I put in 10% in weight of the Velvet Black Mason stain. I mix it with the slip I allready have made so it is not 100% accurate. If you want to be very precise you'd have to weigh dry clay, then add 10% of that weight in Mason stain and mix that. I like to make a big batch of slip instead of having to mix each color in the dry form. But off course you will have to test, as always. 😄Why are the Denmark custom so horrible? I have sent pots to Europe without problems, not to Denmark though...

    Thank you so much for your videos. I love watch to you working it's pleasant and satisfying. I think i understand how you use tools to carve. There is one i'm not sur to understand. It's concerning the silver one. You seems to use it to striped the drawing's border. Why to do this? Is it to stop the slip to flow during the cooking?

    • @nukuaceramicsbonaire
      @nukuaceramicsbonaire  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Hi Oceannielle! Thanks for writing a comment! Slip does not flow or move during the firing. Slip is just clay with a color pigment, it is not a glaze so it does not move at all. I do that carving to take away the color around the drawing for more contrast, that is all. I hope this helps!

    I ran across one of your videos a few days or so ago. Your work is beautiful & so unique. The thing that I love almost as much as seeing what you are making is the fact that you are left handed like me. 😊
    Can this be done using the traced patterns like those you used to make stamps? Rather using slip trailing, would it be possible to simply trace the pattern over the pot then sgraffito the design? It seems to be an option that might work for those of us who can’t really freehand the design, as well as possibly a bonus way to prevent removing too much of the pattern. Any thoughts?

      @nukuaceramicsbonaire  Před 3 měsíci

      I use all kinds of tools, not a particular favourite. For the 'drawing' of the design I use a stylus, for the carving I use the cheap standard ones aswell as Xiem tools, kemper and Dolan tools. I sometimes bend them to the shape I want.

    Is the white just the white of the clay? Or do you add white glaze after the bisque firing. My whites are never that bright, with just clear glaze on top and I’ve tried several white clays . Is it porcelain?

    • @nukuaceramicsbonaire
      @nukuaceramicsbonaire  Před 3 měsíci

      Yes it is just the white clay with clear glaze. It is Laguna WC 609 smooth stoneware with Laguna MS 29 clear bright glaze.

      Thankyou so much very kind of you to clarify that for me. I haven’t seen Laguna clay, in my suppliers . I might need to shop around a bit more .
