39:30 Great question! The only stat that doesn't really matter in this game is weight. Every other stat is really important. Take Baby, for example. He is easily the best character in the game because of his high speed, max braking, and good spin. He's an amazing character for completing time missions. I hope this helps!
Yeah I think Weight only really matters if you play with other people in co-op or vs
Banana Blitz HD speedrunner here, speed is a really good stat, but being able to stop on a dime when you need to is important. Baby has the best combo of speed and brake in Banana Rumble, so if you want to have a character with super tight controls and slick movement then I would stick with Baby. Hope this helps!

Gah, I always chose the baby monkey cause of it’s speed, but honestly I think the more speed you have just makes the game unplayable cause you just shoot right off the map, so I suggest playing a character with average speed and good weight so you don’t end up flying to your death. (I tortured myself play the whole game of super monkey ball banana blitz cause I just kept flying off screen, trust me, pick the heavy or aye aye choc)

I like how it turned from Monkey Ball to Sonic really fast.
I used to speedrun Super Monkey Ball 2. Doctor feels the best to me, lower speed but way more control over your physics. His Spin Dash makes it feel like you can execute some of the tricks from the originals on command by just flinging yourself at a corner/ledge, skipping a lot of the extra work. There were a ton of frame perfect pause buffer strats in the original, but it's almost like you can use multiple consistent setups in this game because your speed is so variable on command.
I was hoping we got some more Coop action. This has monkeys, and you just did an amazing Coop video with the DK crew who are also monkeys.
But it's still a good video!

I know i'm not loyal sub of yours, but i would love to see you tackle my favorite Super Monkey Ball game, Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz Wii, it's one of the leash popular of the monkey ball games and one of the easier ones , but i love it because it's the closes one that plays like a platformer, you can jump and there are bosses, and if you do plan on doing Mini Games, it's 50 mini games, most of them aren't really good, But I think Monkey Wars is an amazing Mini Game, it's a FPS game and I don't usually like those style of games, but i love it. there a Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz HD for new console, but i think it's a down grade for the Wii one, the HD version controls better, because you use a controller, instead of motion control, but it loses a lot of it's appeal, most of the soundtrack is replace in HD, I've only played Super Monkey Ball 1, 2, Adventure, Blitz Wii, Blitz HD, Mania, and Rumble, and I think Blitz Wii has the best soundtrack, and Monkey Wars as also been remove in the HD versions, so if you ever find the WII version of the game, i'll been glad to watch you play it, if it's the HD version, I'll pass on it.

Gongon was my favorite in the GameCube Super Monkey Ball because he reminded me of DK. No clue if there were any stats associated with the characters back then.

Also completely unrelated, if you REALLY want to suffer, play through Super Monkey Ball 2, that game is one of the hardest on the GameCube. (And that studio ALSO made F-Zero GX, so… I think I’m seeing a pattern)
I absolutely love Monkey Ball. If you're open to it, I'd love to see you revisit the GameCube titles, cause they are some of the hardest games ever made imo.
Edit: Better yet, play Deluxe for the ps2 or Xbox. It has all the stages from 1 and 2.
