The features and specs are great, of course, but to me the biggest thing is that Sony has really changed their colors to something that I now find very appealing. I have disliked Sony's color for a long time, and thus not paid any attention to their cameras, but what is coming out of the A7S III and the FX6 is very much getting my attention!

I feel you, I also found the FS5 to be a very noisy camera (compared to the FS7) which always surprised me. It’s a fine line as if these new features on FX6 (and not on FX9) was not added out to protect FX9 owners (like what Canon does) than you have new buyers complaining about this.
You can’t win them all but it’s good to see that Sony decided to not hold back (or cripple) features to protect their other lines.
I can totally understand Nino and FX9 owners who paid twice for it without these new features.
If Sony could give these features to the FX9 in an upgrade, then everyone would be happy.
In case of Sony, I think they are doing this in response to Canon’s recent success with R5/R6 and followed on with C70.
As consumers or professionals, we just need to decide what tools we need to do our jobs and/or get paid, and not jump at every release as it’s an expensive exercise that most cannot afford to do. Just try to keep up with the design roadmap and releases and see if you should wait and skip or buy now. I would think 2-3yrs is enough time where the upgrades is worth the investment, but that also depends if the tools that you purchased has paid back that investment.
Good times to be in if you’re not fully invested!

the utility of the fx6 crushes the bmpcc6k though. The BM has resolution, a great codec, and filmic image quality, but rigging is annoying af after awhile, battery solutions, ergonomics of the awkward football shape, no internal ND/AF, no full size XLR option, s-cinetone etc. The FX6 is worth 6k IMO because of the quality of life improvements it offers if you run and gun a lot or have a high volume of work you want to turn out quickly. Veeeery different cameras. Both have their place. Built-in RAW with the RED, which is amazing, but a S35 sensor and no amazing AF. So you win some, you lose some. It really depends on what you are mainly shooting. For glossy stuff (commercials, narrative) I'd go with the RED (potentially, haven't tested it yet), for the rest with the Sony. And the stuff I shoot personally is mostly in need of a weaker codec - documentaries, TV ... - because of the amount of footage I have to produce which the post production has to process in a short amount of time. It looks like a camcorder from the 90'. Especially that handle is really ugly. That's a huge turn off for me. Not buying untill and unless they do something about the handle design.

Just think it's a shame that a 9 minute review only has about 20 seconds worth of actual camera footage to spare.

That's why I called it a first hands-on review. A full review with the production version will come, we didn't have much time with the camera. Nino
