- Raising MISS HEATHER !!! Hit and sunk on May 30Th 2023 and raised on June 13Th 2023. Ran over just outside of Newport News Little Boat Harbor in the Hampton Roads. Took the whole bow and cabin off her and she went down quick !!!
So sorry that boat is scrap That was an amazing lift to clean the harbor.
Great Video
Great video, man! Thanks!
new subscriber, wonderful stuff....cheers from Orlando, Florida
This was a sad ending to an iconic Edward Diggs build Chesapeake dead rise work boat, that round stern design is becoming rarer to find these days.
Finally figured out what a “booee” is. These guys pronounce buoy that way. Now a lot of the dialogue makes sense.
It seems a lot of effort to retrieve what looks like a piece of scrap.
Wow! They had a man in the water, with the wreck hanging from misbalanced slings, almost overhead! Health and safety would have closed that down, here.
That rigging was seriously dangerous. Way off center, could have easily slid out of those slings.
Did ya'll ever make a video of a close up of what was left after it was turned back over on the dock?
I am in Ga. about 100 miles from the coast. I watched as they cut up and hauled out the car carrier ship that grounded a couple years ago at Saint Simmons sound. That big gantry crane that was used I understand was I think in a bad storm and grounded somewhere on the other side of the world. I wonder if they were able to save it and where it is now... That crane cable should have been attached to the ends of the spreader bar. Lot of bend in it the way it was. Never understood how two boats can collide in an ocean of water.
That was a waste of money 💰, would have left that scrap at the bottom.
Good work getting her up, that shouldn’t be left on the bottom in a harbor area. Now you can get a item or two to remember her by. The prop and wheel would be great to have.
So thats it ? I presumed it was something classic 🥴
Are there any pictures of her before
That was a huge waste of someone's money! Unless it was in very shallow water at an inlet possibly causing problems
It's all about environmental issues today . Keep our waterways safe and clean
That’s a bad wreck. Did the crew make it out all right? Take care.
They went through a lot, but no major injuries.
Yes
When is the Admiralty hearing?
Where was this?
At least they got the hazard out of the navigation and prevented an environmental problem, down the line, but that was very sketchy. Simply wouldn’t be allowed over here.
Must have been needing to investigate it so it was brought up and plus one less on the bottom
I hope the Captain and crew are all safe.
They went through a lot, but no major injuries.
Thank the Lord there all safe.
It'll buff out
Watch out for that propane tank
Boat: break out another thousand.
The wheel house didn't come up with her. Are they going to leave it?
Nothing left on bottom, large pieces have been recovered floating on the surface.
Where did this happen and what did they hit or what hit them if I may ask?
i'm a new sub. you think any of the wood can be repurposed?
Possablity of a fuel leak reason she was raised, spill liability very large. . Doubt if insurance was involved. Unlikely the boat was insured and other vessel probably payed for salvage. All sorts of ways to raise a wreck, Crofton are experts, job done quickly with no surprises. No word on who was at fault. Likely some shared responsibility. All this speculation with no direct knowledge.
Wow, a lot of work & cost for a small vessel.. I assume it was necessary because ???????
Must of run a stop sign.
Cost of raising the boat, draining it, refurbishing and repairs.......might as well buy another boat with the insurance.
Will not be restored.
was she a fishing boat?
Commercial Seafood catching crabs.
have to collect insurance money...
Not much left
They just lost a tourist dive location.
Damn they left more on the bottom than they got up
Nothing left on bottom, large pieces have been recovered floating on the surface.
@@workboatlife1833 😬
What hit her?
Dual hull fiberglass Pilot Boat
she was done. why raise her? there's no cost benefit to pay big $$$ to raise what is essentially a ground up build?? makes no sense....
Large pieces continue to become unattached and float to the surface endangering other vessels plus large boat barge traffic in the area.
@@workboatlife1833 yea, that makes sense if its a danger.
navigation hazard to other shipping, can't just leave it if it is in navigation channel or harbour area
Well that was fairly boring
Not as boring as your channel. This one video did 100% more than your channel. 🤪
You got to be kidding...All the work and expense for a little pile of junk.
What a waste of money and resources. Should’ve just been floated with bags and hauled out to deeper waters and cut loose.
Total waste of Money to bring her up.
that will rub out easy fix
