Hi Josh, new to oils here, is it essential to use liquid clear before the underpainting? Or can I just stick the colour straight on the canvas? Would it change the effect of the lights?
Hi Josh , really loved seeing how you use liquid clear , then get absolutely fantastic colours . I haven't been painting very long and use acrylic . Is there a liquid clear for acrylic painting ? I can't seem to find out what it is . Freezing in Liverpool UK but got my favourite roast chicken , cranberry sauce and crisps (chips usa 😊) sandwich . . . Fantastic 😂
The amount varies. Sometimes it's a lot to make the color very vibrant when we use the white, and sometimes when you use less under color, it comes out darker and a bit more muted
You've got me totally stoked to try these techniques! I started painting in July and have done about 15 so far.
Wonderful!

Hi Josh
How much paint is on your brush? I'm assuming you don't want to overload the canvas with lots of colors right?

Is this type of under painting able to be achieved with acrylic paint for northern lights as well? I’ve never used oil paint before.
😎😎
Can I do the same effect with acrylics?
I only use oils
