So what's your experience with the Aegis - did the video help you enjoy Lies of P more?
Just use the umbrella weapon
Its charged R2 attack blocks all attacks with 100% reduction and its 2 charge power lets it perfect guard any hit for a whole second and a bit, making red attacks a non issue.
I’m decently far into the game and had no idea this ability existed on the shield arm. Guess I just gotta wait and hope to find another plug to build a new arm. Thanks for the pro tip!

Just max fable slots, get fable regen on perfect block and use absolute defense. You can perfect block end game boss multi hit furies like they’re nothing.
How do you use Absolute Defense? It seems like I still have to time it just right….I am using Fable Greatsword with Wintry Rapier handle.
@@JordanJadallah-ce6vc Wintry rapier handle can't use absolute defense, only guard parry. (They're very different) It's mostly on strength weapons but some dex weapons like acid greatsword handle has it too.

The windup for attacks just doesn't look right for a lot of enemies. They took the Elden Ring route of difficulty where something will wind up an attack for 3-4 seconds and then the swing comes out in half a second. It just makes perfect guarding feel awful. Especially when each enemy can have different combos and start ups.
I'm not even going to bother ranting about the Jester Robot.

Yea i am struggling with the game i won't lie but I'm new to the Souls like genre only playing ER and one can get op in that game and just roll over bosses not in Lies of P its either get good at perfect blocking or just get lucky lol but I love the game and will not stop playing no matter what.
Don't feel bad even souls veterans and sekiro vets are having trouble deflecting the timing is very very strict
@@JohnDoe-pu5gk can't agree this game is all about perfect guarding if you master that it's a wrap no boss can even damage you.
@JohnDoe-pu5gk your right in a sense it trys to be its own game apart from the souls and makes strict parry and every boss fight after the third with 2 phases and health bars. I see a patch incoming soon for the parry window at least..
@popsgarcia2859 Yep. Souls and sekiro vet here and the parry mechanic is horrible in lies of p. Still a great game though.
@@MrFox101 i found that dodging to left instead of trying to perfect guard every shot really made the game more fair..but even then, i stock up on throwing cells and anything i can throw from a distance, so much fun the game is brutally amazing..lol
There's actually a way to perfect guard every time very easily with the shield. While guarding with the Aegis shield, tap the block button (L1) and you will perfect guard _every_ time. I doubt this is intentional, so there's a good chance it will get patched, but for now, enjoy.

Omg I never knew that. Been using the shield all wrong. Lol I'm on chapter 9 of ng+ aswell. That would have been so helpful if I knew earlier. Basically unkillable even in boss fights now ❤. Thanks
Well it's useful until they patch it. I didn't exactly need it. Got by fine with aegis and dodge rolling and understanding certain boss mechanics. But being able to perfect parry with the shield without the annoying delay is amazing. The shield deploy delay is really hard to time for a perfect you can't reactivate the shield quick enough to avoid a combo move sometimes. This solves that issue. Remember I'm on ng+. The enemies deal alot more damage and they have alot more health. Getting hit with a fury attack for example is near death in most boss fights. Just being able to have my shield out to guard hits. And then just perfect guard with the shield glitch for fury is massive
I unlocked the PERFECT GUARD CAUSE STIFFNESS ability in P Organ but it seems to have no effect. Did anyone tried it succesfully?

On NG+4. Aegis is an absolute god send. One shotted nameless puppet on NG+3 with it. Haven’t died to a single boss on NG+4. So far and just downed swamp monster boss.
Holding the block button while parrying also makes it easier
Whenever I go to last-minute block with Aegis, it never comes out fast enough. It really isn't super useful to me because alot of the time you have to be able to block much quicker in reaction to attacks and Aegis takes too long to come out for me to optimally use it instead of blocking.
Also, blocking taking stamina was an interesting choice. No less making perfect blocks still consume stamina as well...
the actual parry window on the perfect guard is 9 frames, less than a tenth of a second, on a guard parry (wintry rapier fable art) its 3 frams, on absolute counterattack (etiquette fable art) its around 12, deflect counterattack (azure dragon glaive) around the same, and the aegis is the biggest one at around 13-14

Im not really struggling. Simons phase 2 is just fucking unfair. I beat him once by luck and did the nameless puppet after. Simon phase 2 is way harder than nameless pupett

The enemy attack patterns are just too awkward and unintuitive in this game... I wonder if we are ever gonna get something like Sekiro again
Yeah , probably never, I think fromsoftware should make another pirate or 19th century game with sekiro combat

Or if you have a high difficulty of perry even if it is dark souls you can simply dodge...
they should update the item desciption, the hidden advantage is so embarrassing just like the hidden stagger meter, step it up neowiz we need u to make FUN games

Devs just need to fix the guard mechanic and fix boss scaling. Ive beaten the game 3 times and yanno what, i never really enjoyed the boss fights so ive just deleted the game. Its just not fun
I'm happy I did not purchase this game and played it through Game Pass. I've always been horrible with parry timing and go sword and board or full blown dodge. The fact that this game forces you into an unforgiving parry play style got me to drop it.
I wish this was a starting item. I'm stuck at the stupid Donkey mini-Boss and can't progress any further. PlayStation should offer refunds for games like this.
Strafe around him, dodge, and backstab are things that worked for me

Use the electric mace you can buy from vendor in house. Also throw electric cannisters at him to open fight. Also like the others say wait for him to do is a big attacks and go around behind him and back stabbed him, you will get it
If you struggled with the donkey then I don't know what to tell you, this game is not for you. I'm 42 btw so don't say anything about the reflexes being too difficult

Just makes it worse. Sekiro just made soulsborne games worst and very unenjoyable
Sekiro combat is perfect and you have the same opportunity as the opponent, if you become skilled enough you can beat even isshin without taking a single hit, that's how fair that game is , no matter how skilled you become on other souls game, there is a chance that a "classic dark souls" bs will happen to you and you will never expect it,
