몇년이 지나도 계속 주기적으로 와서 들어야 하는 목소리. 잊을만하면 생각나는 목소리. 아델의 노래와 완전히 다른 느낌의 커버여서 굉장히 색달랐던 것 같아요..!

Been listening to Lena Park since high school in the 90’s. If you’ve never heard her “P.S. I Love You” go listen. One of my all time favorites. It’s in Korean, so beautifully sung. Brings tears to your eyes.

솔직하게 얘기하면 박정현씨 노래 스타일이 제가 좋아하는 스타일이 아닌데... 그런데... 이 곡을 들으면 원곡자 아델보다 더 좋게 들리는 건 왜일까... 결론은 실력이 없는 게 아니라 취향이 달랐을 뿐... 자기노래 보다 더 잘부른 곳이라면 그럼 그게 자기 곡이지..
뭔소리? 아델은 자기 이야기라 간혹 이 노래 부르며 눈물을 흘린다. 기교나 가창 이런 걸 아무것도 아니게 만드는 건 진심으로 자신을 드러내보이는 때다. 이 노랜 아델 그 자체임으로 아델이 되지 않고는 아무도 넘을 수 없다. 동서양의 여자들이 나누는 사랑과 이별에 대한 아름다운 교감 정도로 해두자. 참고로 난 박정현의 팬이다.

박정현이 부르는 이곡은 기교와 감정이 극도로 농축되있다는 느낌이 들고 입이 떡 벌어진다. 허나 아델이 눈물을 흘리며 부르는 영상을 보면 심장을 후며파는 사랑의 고통이 느껴진다. 노래는 더이상 중요하지도 않고 들리지도 않는다 오직 한 여자의 슬픔과 애탄에 경외감을 느끼며 한 인간 자체로서 아름다움의 극치를 보게된다. 노래는 노래만이 아니다. 커뮤니케이션이다. 인간이다.
