this was the greatest game I ever watched, from start to finish, wire to wire, lead change after lead change, big shot after big shot, back and fourth both teams went hard, so many players hit crucial tough shots, but Paul and Reddick was just to much for the Spurs down the stretch, the only reason its not recognized as such is because it was the first round, if this was the Finals it would've been talked about way more and possibly gone down as the greatest game 7 ever
the 2013-2014 squad was the clippers best team in terms of top to bottom talent/depth, but this season was their best opportunity to make a deep run, especially after getting past the spurs. Warriors had just emerged and hadn't established that dominant mental edge yet (that would ensue the following seasons as they beat the clippers like 10 straight times or something like that). Would've been an awesome series. Such a shame the clippers blew that 3-1 lead against houston. That season will forever be their biggest missed opportunity to potentially win a championship or at least get to the finals.
Playing a spurs team with Duncan ,parker, ginoblili, kawhi, Green , etc a deep bench for 7 games would tire me out too. The clippers where burnt out dude they didn't have enough in the tank to take on the rockets who were not scrubs at all in there own right at this time
@@ianchan7925 This.... nobody could predict that a random Josh Smith would come out of nowhere and not miss from 3..... thats not somthing you can "plan" for... he had the most random hot hand, and it demoralized the entire team, and compromized the series for the clippers. It was so heartbreaking, because that was truly the year that we could've won the championship.
I remember this game like it was yesterday! STILL might be the greatest Game 7 I've ever seen 🔥

100% Agree, this one the greatest playoff game ever.
This is still one of the best games I’ve ever seen and this was when I was first getting into the NBA.
A classic game that was unfortunately overshadowed by the most anticipated boxing fight of the 21st century that didn't live up to the hype.
FACTS!

I'll never forget this game, such a great game 7. And can't forget about the Mayweather Pacquiao right after this game 7.
I almost cried while watching this again.. They could have won the chip.

How did they beat the spurs and lose to the rockets?? It will forever haunt me as a clippers fan

Team chemistry was off. Chris Paul and Blake Griffin especially. You can see Blake Griffin trying to give Paul a high five and CP ignored him
This game is why I’ll rep the clippers for life.
Rebounds almost cost them
Wow
If they woulda played thru kawhi they would have won series
