  • Edgar Valdivia and his wife Patricia Valdivia are the two sweetest people alive. Sweeter than all the fruits that Edgar Valdivia has in his garden! These two loving couple has welcome me and two other friends, Thy Tri and Tim Dang. Edgar Valdivia toured us around all his his personal favorite fruits that he grafted himself and also the ones that he hybridized and created on his own like the famous Asunta Dragon Fruit! One of the many great tasting Dragon Fruits that Edgar Valdivia has created and also my personal favorite is "Tricia"! As you all can already tell by now, that Edgar Valdivia is great at what he does and his creation speaks for itself. He truly loves to spend his life in the garden and it is his passion to continue for many years to come. He is unconditionally so happy to share his knowledge and gift with us all.
    Thank you Mr. Edgar Valdivia!

How fantastic, isn't that what gardening is really all about, sharing, learning and enjoyment. The passion for dragon fruit and gardening generally that is on display in this video, by both young and old is heartwarming and uplifting. The enjoyment and enrichment derived from this passion is so rewarding and is an experience that can be handed down from generation to generation. I love this video, it almost brings a tear to my eye. The wealth of knowledge accumulated after almost eighty years is astounding and should never be underestimated or taken for granted. 💙

What a great opportunity to talk to Edgar Valdivia, I envy you. He is the most knowledgeable person on the subject of the pitahaya. I have been following him for years he has the rarest fruits that I have seen. There is a fruit that called Lucuma which is a Peruvian fruit that only very few people have outside of Peru have. He is very well respected not only in the dragon fruit community, but also in the rare fruit community. So my advice to you is seize the moment learn as much as you can from him, its a great opportunity. One last thing I was cruising CZcams and in the video Edgar was talking about young people continuing the prompting, researching, and creating interest in the pitahaya and he mentioned your name and website. I was looking for it again and could not find it. Keep up the good work!!!!

I have several varieties at my house but I have no idea what they are. Most have come from plants growing wild in my village in Mexico. I would like to know how to get a cutting of that yellow long neck fig. It looks so delicious. And I also would like to know if anyone can come and identify a fig tree in my yard. My mother is from Yugoslavia and somehow got a cutting of a fig from there. It is rare and I haven't a clue what it could be. It is a green fig with red insides and I call it Jelly Doughnut cause that's what it taste like. Last winter it almost died cause some critter ate the bark and stripped it badly. I did not trim for fear it would die but it came back and had lots of fruit, unfortunately so high I couldn't reach. It's always so fun to walk through other's gardens like getting a high at how others grow. I've been gardening for 50 yrs and never tire of a seeing others gardens.
