You should try for education route. Look at colleges where you would be eligible for 100% scholarship for Phd programs and other higher studies. It is possible in some universities and colleges. With PhD you also get scholarships covering your living expenses.

Hi, if you work a 9-5 job and are an hourly employee, and say you get 1 hr break(lunch or lunch+coffee breaks), you will be paid for 7 hours. It could be paid weekly, bi-weekly or every 15 days based on your contract. Same if you are salaried. Whatever your salary is, you can calculate it backwards to get an hourly rate but yes, lunch break is not paid for or you can say, they pay me $xy for 8 hours. Overtime laws are also in place. If in management roles, then no overtime
As for Saturday and Sunday, if your shifts fall on those days, you'll get paid otherwise no. If these days, you end up working and Overtime rules apply, then 1.5 or 2 times rate depending on applicable calculations which depends on province by province and contract by contract
