Faafetai lava for your videos. In one of Jerome Grey's recording in the past, he told the story that this song was written for Mr. Tasi Leiman or Layman (spelling?) who was suffering with leprosy and was sent to Makonai in Fiji where all with leprosy were sent at the time. So this song was dedicated to Mr. Tasi. On the last line of the chorus, it sings "Aue Tasi e, ta fia alu nei i ai!" It's a song of lament where the song writer was longing to see Mr. Tasi again. I know your lyrics showed "tasi" in small caps but I believe it should be Tasi with a capital "T". Mr. Faanana Jerome Grey is still alive and well in Southern California. I'm sure he can provide the background on this song for I don't want to misquote him. This is one of my favorite song and that's why I remember the story. Again, thank you for your videos. Keep up the good work. God bless.
