    It may seem like a minor detail, but I love that Wes addressed the girl who died at their concert by name. It goes to show it really affected them and wasn't just shrugged off as an inconvenience to the band.

    Poor Fred. People often look down on him, and view him as this douchebag. What if you were a loner all of your life, and knew nothing of real socializing? Imagine how you would feel once you had hit international fame. He went crazy, because it was the first time in his life that he was accepted, and had followers. He took it a little far obviously; but come on, anyone in Fred's situation would have probably done the same. I know I would go crazy if I hit fame the way they did. I would probably be hated in no time also. Fred is a real intelligible guy, it's a shame, people judge him based on his past actions, when they know nothing of the real man he actually is.

    Fred says he's not a singer, and yet he has one of my favourite singing voices ever. I know that if you look at his tone/range scientifically it's pretty narrow, but I guess I prefer that. I like simple music. I think it sounds waaay better than the "note salad" that you get in other bands, and all I can say to justify myself is: Look at old school video game music. They had very limited technology to work with, so the music had to be simple but because of that, they had to be creative(just like Wes said!) and that old music ended up being some of the most iconic game music ever, and it is still rarely matched to this day. Now that we've got the technology to do complex music, it hasn't necessarily resulted in better music, and so I guess you could say that I find Fred's voice as enjoyable as an old NES tune.

      Well there’s no good way to say that you think “you’re a great singer”. It’s like, “ do you think you’re hot?” It’s either “yea! I’m great!”. Or it’s “no, I suck and I’m totally ugly!”. Either way you sound like a butthead.

    • @maximusaralieous1728
      @maximusaralieous1728 Před rokem

      Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge, an incredible singer, once said that people appreciate passion over technical ability when it comes to singing and it was something that was always on his mind.
      Fred might be far from the greatest singer, but what he's singing, he's feeling and because of that you feel it too. Add on top of that some fantastic musicians and it amplifies that ten fold. The Woodstock performance is proof of that. Their show might have been one of the best rock performances of all time. The energy was incredible.

It's only gotten worse but I hope one day those talking crap about other people it could be you one day and your band and for someone to say you're music sucks and you're a loser if you like them. That made me like them more. Sure he could be a butt but he was younger and fame hit like fire. He's learned and is very grateful. What Fred said about the Woodstock promoters not understanding the angst and rage they were tapping into by booking them and bands like Korn is so spot on. That movement, as the interviewer refers to it, was all about anger. It made them very special to people like me, but you better understand what you are tapping into when you book them.
    Cool interview, interesting to see that Wes and Fred are the Ol Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, Axl Rose and Slash dynamic. Two front men in a rock band who butt heads. Love their music, even today.
