I see a few news reaction videos but no reviews of the actual device, I don't see anyone posting demos yet. I mean I will watch reviews by guys like Lonely Rocker and Rhett Shull when they do them down the line, it's just kind of refreshing Kemper took a different approach to the feeding frenzy. I ordered one when I saw the announcement just based on my experience with their existing kit.
@@DroneCorpse No there isn't. No one has received a unit yet. All the videos that exists are people who have voluntarily done a speculation video, or walk through of the manual, etc. but no actual (physical) product videos in that sense.

The rig knob was the only control i used on the kemper and truly the best feature for easily scrolling through profiles. I was hoping a mini-kemper would basically be a small box with a rig knob. Hopefully it can be updated with that function. Otherwise, sad to see it missing.
I really want this for a small desktop recording setup. So I can keep my stage plugged into the powered cab just for practicing and keep this always hooked up to my computer and ready for recording at any moment with the same sounds.

I´ve got two Questions: 1. No Fx Loop? So I cant use a multi like Line 6 Helix FX to control the Kemper via Midi and use my FX at the same time. That would have been great. (I dont think putting effects at the end of the chain is a usefull option). 2. Three Footswitches for four effects? If I cant use my multi FX properly, I would have liked to be able to acces at least all effects directly via footswitch.
This is great, I had gone to the QC due to needing a smaller form factor on my board but this will bring me back! Gotta have two for dual mono! What’s the price of these going to be?
Great news (for us musicians) and BAD news for fender ! the Tonemaster is at least twice as much expensive ! what were they thinking ?!!!! and the kemper is made in Germany, not China !!!! Even Kemper power cabinet is cheaper than the Fender ! I can't wait to have more informations about the models of amps and effects !!!
Och Manno. Ich finde den Formfaktor vom QC ja ideal, aber hätte gerne die Kemper-Experience wieder, ohne die Größe vom Stage. Und nun haut Ihr ein Gerät heraus, das mit Mono-XLR kommt und selbst keine Profiles erzeugen kann (oder plant Ihr das als Software-Lösung?). Wirklich sehr schade. :(

Strange they’re going with usb midi. Woulda been nice to see 5-pin or trs midi since those are kinda the standard amongst other midi capable pedals, and this is meant to integrate on your pedal board. At least it’s got the capability… Just one more adapter though
With the bulky DIN connector I get it on those small devices, but that's exactly why MIDI via TRS has been specified. Having 1/8 inch TRS MIDI connectors would have been amazing.
@@adamalexanderray a lot of folks will run other pedals after this. There are pedalboard solutions for XLR conversion and line isolation. Check out the Pinstripe Pedals DISO+
IR2 fx-loop is not so useful except if you're addict with their ambiant fx (chain is ampstack-cab-loop-rvb) . Otherwise turning off the boss reverb is ok to add your own fx at the output of the pedal (and you win 2 da/ad converters)
If you like stereo amp, kemper is able to do d/w. So, you can build w1/w2. W1 kemper fx / w2 your fx pedals. Like a (semi) parallel routing in a professional fx rack.
Probably me for my studio. I had the big brother some years ago, was for the things I do, kinda "too much". This unit, I hope it will fit my needs especially with the small form factor and the fact, that I'm not every evening on a different stage - except in my mind maybe 🤣
Ohh the MIDI USB is over the Type A port meaning the KPLayer is the USB host to others. That is better than when th eUSB MIDI is on the B type (host) @@tusotusin
Can't believe they left out the FX loop. How can you use external effects post-amp and then send to front of house using the XLR? Guess you would have to have a direct box on your pedal board. I will stick with my Kemper Stage and my external effects all controlled via Midi by the Kemper.
@@jimlinneman8819 to be fair, most guys running amp simulation on a pedal board already have a solution like a walrus canvas or a pinstripe pedals DISO+. And if you don’t, you are missing out!
@@jimlinneman8819Agree, pre-amp fx is no problem if Kemper profile player is placed last in the signal chain, that way it would enable the xlr out, but that’s limiting the possibilities when you make compromises and workarounds when using post-amp effects. An fx loop will solve those issues and open up alternatives with different signal chains. I see no problems at all with the Limited effects and no screen. It is frustrating at this price point we are condition to use it one way and make compromises and workarounds for alternatives

$700 no screen, no usb c ... why buy this over an HX stomp or ampero 2 stage? seems very last gen ... even the tone x has a screen. i don't get the hype
I think, but I'm not sure, that it is intended for Kemper heads users. To transfer their profiles to the kemper player, so they use the same cable and not a different one.
Such an odd product where each feature can’t really be utilized. They have us effects, but no extra foot switches to control them. Gave us 50 banks but no way of seeing which is which. XLR out but it’s mono. Tap tempo but no extra switch, a soft button. At $700 it seems really odd. It’s not enough to stand alone like the stage and too much honestly for a pedalboard. Sorry, not for me.

There is no stereo with dual XLR? So You cannot run your mission cab in stereo with this? or you can run it with the monitor stereo out? IN STEREO?

NO. It cannot. It is very limited in what it actually does and can do.
Would be perfect for pedal board integration if it had an effects loop so you can use your pedals with it.

Apparently it has effects though and you can place where you want them but I agree. I use a strymon iridium and my complaint with that is the same
