Chiquitita (meaning "little one" in Spanish, in an affectionate or endearing reference to a woman) is a single by ABBA for their album Voulez-Vous. It was released in 1979 and became one of ABBA's greatest hits, being featured in a UNICEF charity event that was broadcast from the United Nations General Assembly. Due to its ties with charity, ABBA donated half of the bands royalties from the song to UNICEF: continuing until the current day.

I usually don’t comment on stuff but I’m learning this for my mom on mother’s day. When My mom was a little kid my grandma use to sing this to her when she was sad and my grandma’s singing and this song really cheered her up. I wish to do the same on mother’s day to let her know that even though its been 20years since she has last seen her; I hope that this song can still cheer her up like my grandma use too way back then.

I love how the beginning starts, it’s calm and makes me envision a tree, slowly losing its leafs. The middle reminds me of the spring, people coming and going, weddings happening yet the tree is still there. The ending tells the same story with more details but in faster motion. (Sorry Ik this is stupid but that’s just what the song makes me think 😅)
