Indeed. It so strong vs DDs. Once you got used to it, it's not so hard to dodge torps. Plus with the high HP it always survives one torp hit at the start.

take it with a grain of salt . this is based on preference only others will have a different experience and opinion on this best is to play all and find out what you prefer and works for you you dont have to complete a line entirely on one go . play lower tiers for all of them and clime up that way so you also know who you are facing
I agree with your list 100% . The Pan European line needs more love and can’t wait for the T8 and legendary ships . I will break 1 million elite xp on my Ostergotland this week . It prints clear sky medals and I love 90 knot torps

I wait til I know I can fight it 1 v1 or they are low health with the turrets pointing the wrong way so I get a lot of free salvos . The torps are great stagger fire torps to get perma floods if you space them out about 15 sec apart
Yeah, apart from the first few weeks after launch, the Pan Asian DDs are just incredibly rare. Maybe a good buff would be to give the Hsienyang the ability to run both smoke and radar?
I fully agree. French DD’s are among the strongest in the game when used properly. High skill flor. I enjoy them a lot. Also holding the damage record in Le Terrible. Kinda scared though of what WG’s “rework” will look like. Knowing WG, they will probably nerve the torps into the ground without buffing guns and AA enough to make up for it.

A few weeks after release and you don’t see any of them out there anymore. ☹️ In the stream they said the commander perk would still be available but it would no longer make sense to use it if you wanna be competitive. Also, premiums would not be affected. I believe they also mentioned nerving the torps but I’m not 100% sure on that one. A cc mentioned they would get 1 extra gun reload booster (making it a total of 2). Well I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Does anyone else feel the fletcher has been noticeably power crept? Still a great ship and fun to use but considering it’s a gunboat it still gets shredded by the Black, Somers, Akizuki and Friesland, not to mention the 4 listed above have much better utility
I know everyone heaps praise on the RN DDs, but they have yet to click for me. I suspect I'm being too aggressive. A properly played US or Russian DD will tear up a British one in a straight up fight. I suspect I need to learn to manage my smoke better, and play a more patient game. I would have put the Pan Europeans at S also...even before the gun reload buff that the T3 thru 5 got, I eventually figured them out, and the entire line was effective for me.

Ostergotland: easiest torps to land. Guns rotate 360 degrees. Turns into a horrifying demon with the Swirsky special Commander, obliterating CV planes and punching 8 torps every 50 seconds.
akizuki is too slow for having such a long body imo, turning circle and rudder shift is fine considering it's a long lady. it only needs the ability to be able to hunt down the enemy DDs. half a nightmare to grind out but insanely fun to use once gotten

@Mark Davidson You can work around those faults and most DDs don't don't have sonar anyway and the maneuverability is also not yhat bad the main issue is the speed
The rating is appropriate. It's fat, it's slow, it's clunky, and it has that horrible Japanese smoke. Fletcher basically has the same dpm but does not suffer any of those weaknesses. The AP is good at dispatching incompetent destroyers but not so much when the other person knows what they are doing.
gotta disagree with the Akizuki line .. i actually like the tier VI way more than the Akitzuki its an insane hybrid the pan asian line has great dds as well
Lightning is unquestionably top of the list. I was surprised because of Östergötland. I love the Pan-European line, but A level?! Very difficult ship... Nevertheless fun to play. Udaloi is definitely underrated! 😁😉
For those who have gone through Minekaze (Akizuki line) and have already played either Fubuki or even Akatsuki, EVERYTHING feels like a gun boat. I'm honestly surprised as to how Minekaze even passed testing because the only thing it has is speed, her torps are shit, her guns are even shittier, her fully specced on stealth build is less than 300 meters shorter than her torps, who don't do a lot of damage either. But, the psychological buff you get from playing her is literally too good. If you played her and passed her tier with a good KD and Winr8, you can consider yourself fairly decent at Japanese DDs, because she WILL push your limits and game knowledge to the maximum you can acquire at that tier
Do not understand how the American destroyers aren't S tier. I think you also underrate Pan-Asian and the French, and overrate the Japanese and Germans.

Their is no bad boat just some are better it comes down to commander. I like akizuki as well but it's so so slow

The tier 7 ships should be evaluated on individual merit, not what it takes to get there. Akizuki should be near S tier
Lot of people don't understand that the Japanese destroyers are better at hitting citadels. They might have a slower reload time but AP hits harder.
